Tongue twister in its basic form. A good one!

I used to be so nearly blind (before cataract surgery made my eyes a lot more focused as well as less blurry) that I would have been totally unable to look for my missing glasses. So I always kept an older pair in my glove box, Spouse’s vehicle’s glove box, the top drawer in the bedside table, my travel bag… you get the picture. They weren’t actually very good for me, but better than no glasses at all  by a very long shot. It’s been kind of amusing coming across the spares and putting them into the box that will shortly go to the Lions Eyeglasses Assistance Program when I figure I’ve found ’em all.

I finally AirTagged my keys. Glasses a bit harder. I may get a librarian’s chain but it has to have a Harley Davidson logo.

Like I use my old phone to call my cell phone to find where I have placed it!

I need my glasses to find my glasses.

Earl is clearly bedazzled by Opal’s ingenuity.

With the old glasses, would you be able to see clearly enough to find the new glasses?

Does it say something about me that I know exactly what she’s talking about?

I do exactly that! So glad I kept my old glasses over the years!

ahhh yes the, “I can’t find my glasses to look for my glasses”, conundrum.

Opal, in this comic strip, reminds me of my own dear mother who used to do just this. There were two pair of glasses she wore. One to do her crosswords and the other to find those glasses if she misplaced them.

Aging requires lots of ‘little’ adjustments that one can’t anticipate until it begins.

my wife cataract surgery went badly,she barely can see now.

I recently had the frame on my new glasses break. ( Of course, the warranty had expired, according to my optometrist ). Fortunately, I had my old pair to use until I got new frames. What was strange was that I didn’t notice any difference between my old lenses and the recent ones.

I am so glad that since my cataract surgery I only need “cheaters” from the pharmacy.

That answer stymied Earl……..

She needs to store her new glasses where her old glasses are. She doesn’t seem to have any problem finding her old ones.

Humana lets me have a new pair once a year, and my prescription hasn’t changed in about ten, so I don’t have any trouble finding a pair of glasses. Where ever I am, they are there too.

Good point. Otherwise the way to find them would be to walk around until you hear the crunch a broken glass.

I believe you cannot keep to many old pairs … just in case.

Costco also accepts used glasses to be distributed by charity.

That’s also why I keep my old, old glasses. Just in case I lost…

Didn’t Opal recently play the same game with Earl? His glasses WERE on top of his head, though….

My stepdad (RIP) had readers all over the house. He passed away 7 years ago, but mom still finds another pair occasionally.

Been there, done that. Now, I need to make a call on my land line to find my cell phone.
