Earl’s now fluent in Nelsonese.

My brother and I coined the term “being have” to annoy Mum in the late 40s and early 50s.

My sister used to say that to mom back in the 60s!

Earl is being s good Grandpa here today!

I was doing this one time with my niece. I said: “I’m going to collapse.” She replied: “No, we’re going to London.”

So sweet! But a real life Earl would probably not be able to get off the floor, lol!

Now crawl over there and knock Opal flat on her arce!!

When I was only a little older than Nelson, and my uncle would tell us to behave (which happened often), my female cousin, about a year older than me would always reply, “We are bein’ haven.”

I once said to an au-pair I knew after she’d done something a bit daft “will you behave”. She replied “I have been haveing”

I’ve been having a 40 year argument with someone who insists “being have” is a real phrase.

Nelson needs a ride to the baff-room.

My dad never believed it either.

Ya Opal, don’t let Earl have any fun time with your grandson. They should set around, shut up, and watch paint dry. The nerve of those two.

It is the secret to almost ‘eternal’ life. Drain the you from your grand children using the secret of the ‘Circle of Life.’ I do not look like I have 16 grand children. It is either all the coffee I drink or of the fune I have with my grandchildren(draining a little of their youth for myself, as I play with them), but I am not planning on stopping either one.

Reminds me of when my kids would say “But I said my sorry” to an order to “Say you’re sorry”

Being have…..I havent heard that for 50 years. A common expression growing up in East Tennessee. “are you being have?”

“Okay but have fun without it sounding like you’re breaking things please?” Opal just needs to word things better, but if she did then you all would have no reason to put her down.

I don’t know if I’ve ever known a woman that wouldn’t have been thrilled to see her husband and grandson playing together.
