There is an app (completely free) that will remind you. It’s called a calendar.

It started many years ago with book clubs, and CD clubs. Once they hooked you it was very hard to stop!!

There should be a law requiring them to remind you before the free trial is over and also to have them require that you then confirm your subscription before it renews.

I signed up for an ant-scamming service from this guy I called. I got his number from a pop-up ad on my computer. The service is called NoScamm-Kolkata LLC. I pay with Walmart gift cards. The NoScamm-Kolkata LLC representative is George Wilson (strangely he has a strong Indian accent. Oh well). It is not automatic subscription. He just calls each month and I give him gift card numbers. I can stop anytime. So far, no scams!

Sometimes even when you do remember to cancel the payments keep getting taken.

Don’t accept a free sign-up for any service unless you already know you want that service and plan to continue it.

In most cases, you can cancel right after signing up and you still get the free period

Pam and Brewster have switched roles in this one. Seems fitting that finally Brewster can roll his eyes at her at least once!

I have one paid music subscription and broadband Internet. If I get too bored I have a personal library of four hundred books. I no longer have an audio books subscription but have previously accumulated more than a thousand hours of audio performances. I can buy individual movies online, as needed.

Why let them bleed you dry a month at a time?

I have all of my subscriptions go to a single credit card that has no other use.

I noticed Tim didn’t continue the Mayfly story arc. Clever. As for Pam’s issue, I HATE the subscription model for most things. But since I don’t fall for “free trials”, I’m not impacted. I’ll leave that for the suckers.

The worst was when I got a free trial of LinkedIn Premium. On the 31st day, they charged me for a full year’s subscription, about $500. And this being LinkedIn, they knew I had no job! I tried to speak with a representative, but the communication system was 100% automated. Fortunately, all I had to do was contest the charge on my credit card. Since no human beings were involved on their end, nobody responded, and I didn’t have to pay.

This was a decade ago. Maybe they’ve gotten better about it.
