Good Morning Sunflower Elvis! LOL I’m with you. I HATE loud noises, but this one’s for a VERY good cause!

Tommy, I admire your ability to keep smiling despite loud disruptive noises. I’m hoping to get my backyard fence replaced this weekend and the noise will be my least favorite part. Well, and paying for it.

I’m just glad that my neighbors were happy for me when the contractors had to replace the sidewalk that they had just installed beside my house. They didn’t even mind the jackhammers at 7 AM.

Sunflower Elvis! The Elvis his few fleas hate. Because they need parachutes and they’re outta stock.

    Anyhow, Tommy provides the answers.

I’m waiting for a report from Gatos de Noticias. I’m assuming the Alice and the gang have already left for the peace and quiet of the barn.

Once it’s installed, I hope Sophie and Tommy have a celebration party and invite all the cats to sit and gaze out of it.

Loaner Cat simply stays upstairs whenever there are strangers in the house. No noise necessary (alliteration? LOL) She emerges once they’re gone. And if they happen to be invading her space for some reason, she has found a spot to hide upstairs that even I haven’t found yet.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Beatrixia: I’m trying to write a poem, but I’m stuck on writing a verse that rhymes with window.

Sophititi: Come to the studio. It’s kind of a mess right now, but you’re welcome to come in, though.

Bea: Thanks. Oh, Iron Glove, are you going to the metal work exhibit?

Iron Glove: Yes, I have an entry in the tin show.

Bea: Congratulations. Iggy, are you going fishing with the Water Cat Brothers?

Iggy: Yes. There’s a school of Perfect Perch, all swimming in a fin row.

Bea: I can’t wait for dinner tonight. Ora Z, what’s that you’re playing with?

Ora Z: Not sure. I just found this new gizmo.

Adobe Style: How about joining us for some cin(namon) scones?

Bea: Love to. That always makes me grin, oh!

I’m going to be a comics nerd and and comment on how Georgia synchronized her Sunday strip with her daily strip. They have two different lead times, so it takes some planning ahead. Also, some newspapers don’t run the Sunday strips, or they only run the Sunday strips. So the story arc has to make sense without the Sunday installment, and the Sunday installment has to fit with the arc but also make sense on its own.

To quote Bill Watterson in The Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book, “For these reasons, it’s rarely worth the trouble to coordinate Sundays and dailies.”

From her absence, do we assume that Ora Zella and her Baby’s First Chainsaw are on their way to “help?”

Does anyone make noise-canceling headphones in sizes to fit cats? Asking for a friend.

For the first time ever this morning, my Rexie got out of the apartment. Took about 30 minutes to corner him and get him back inside. What worries me is, now he knows how to do it!

@Jon – Blow up today’s strip as huge as it will go (I get 500%) & take a really close look at the shapes of the cats’ ears & Tommy’s outstretched paw. The subtle differences in shapes & line thicknesses show that all that vibration is definitely hand-drawn. GO, GEORGIA!

Counting down the last few days here, until we get yet another new landlord, I have an awful feeling about this guy. We have lived here since 2008, and priced out of the local housing market entirely in 2024 on our incomes. The last landlord was a property flipper, the one previous to him had this place for 13 years, we knew him well and could always negotiate with him when money was tight. He trusted me to collect rents, do light maintenance, and move the vast lawns we have. I also handled interviews with prospective tenants, and handled clean outs and evictions when necessary. I kept the riffraff out and made this place nice by building decorative stone walls and patios. In short, I cared for this place like I owned it.

This, despite the glaring fact that the universe clearly does not want me to ever own any real estate outside a burial plot!

Neither of us wants to move, we like the privacy, we like the lack of neighbors on top of us and below. Our little backyard and a place to garden. We already know we will both be absolutely miserable in Senior housing or any modern Apartment building. No income based rent, can subsidize or even replace the peace and serenity we feel here. For me, despite not being my real home (I will explain if anyone wants to know) it is the longest I have lived in any one location in my 60 years. I have so much anxiety and trepidation right now, Our new owner is most likely Hasidic, if he was orthodox or even a non-secular Jew like myself, I can deal with them. Our old-old one was a “mensch” he lowered our rent by 200 a month and even gave us a 2-year lease before he sold the place. He did lose our security deposit though, and for that I am angry. I have receipts from him and the original owner when I first moved in, but I don’t think that will help us.

I’m starting to see why so many people my age just give up and pack it in, it’s all just too much, and the light at the end of the tunnel was just another train coming at us.

Poor Elvis would be driven to distraction or possibly insanity if he was a ships cat during hull maintenance. Especially when removing non-skid.

The marks in the right lower corner of panel 4 are not Georgia’s signature. That is in panel 1. So what do they indicate?

    OT: Weather

It was a clear, mild, beautiful sunny day for a change, but now that it’s almost midnight, lightning and thunder is crashing all around along with wind and heavy rain. No watches or warnings, but I am really tired of storms. And I have no right to complain because I see the folks in Texas are getting dumped again and they do have watches and warnings.

Mother Nature, what can we do to help you calm down? I don’t blame you for being mad at some of us, but please don’t take it out on all of us!
