A new fridge will never last as long as the old one. I had a G.E. refrigerator that lasted forty-two years, from 1980 ’til 2022.

Never saw the need for that. Unless something breaks, but then just fix/replace THAT.

It can’t make her cooking any worse.

Cooking lessons couldn’t make her cooking better. She’s a shoe-in for worst cooks in America.

Most cooking shows ask me to use small appliances which I DON’T have. Just a whisk from the 1980’s and a couple slotted spoons! Hmm, remodeling time!

I’m always thankful when a remodeling project is finished. I hate living in a construction zone.

During the COVID lock down we saved so much money we replaced all the kitchen and laundry room appliances and had enough left over to reshingle the roof.

As soon as the remodel is finished, Gladys will want to go out for dinner to celebrate.

Then there were two "THUD"s…..

No, but at least you’ll be able to eat out while the kitchen is torn up.

That’s what I was wondering. I would imagine a kitchen rebuild would be called for when a masterchef was present. I don’t see a masterchef around just now.

If that does improve her cooking, remodel the bedroom next.

I built a house for some folks and when I explained that the sink and faucet that she had chosen would only supply water to one side of her sink, she said don’t worry about it, the kitchen is mostly ornamental.

Granddaughter did the same thing with her kitchen. I tried to talk her out of it. Spent about 27 grand. Looked great I’ll admit but just over a year later sold that home and bought the larger home they needed all along. Took a beating on home they sold. That lovely kitchen didn’t do much for increasing value of their home sell price at all. Impulse action can be costly.

He’ll thank you, eh? We’ll see after he sees the balance in the bank book.

Do you know the Penny’s? They’re Burl and Joy and neither of them would be worth the remodeling job!!!

I once suggested my wife take cooking lessons, she didn’t take it very well. It all works out though, now that I’m retired I do most of the cooking. So far no unwelcome suggestions on upping my cooking game.

Why cook and wear out all those new appliances.

It would be cheaper and more of an improvement to replace the cook.

Hoo boy we just went through this. As with all construction projects it took longer and cost more than we were led to believe. Plus the mess and a totally useless kitchen until completion. Sorry Brutus, it won’t improve her cooking. But there is one silver lining – you will eat better for a few weeks because you’ll be eating at restaurants. Which is another added cost…. Btw Brutus – resistance is futile. Her mind is obviously made up!

We remodeled our kitchen 7 years ago. Did all that plus knocked out a wall and used the dining room space. It all cost more than my first house cost in 1984.

Definitely will improve the cooking because she won’t want to risk cooking in it and get it dirty.

I used to work out at a gym regularly and made friends with one of the guys. He is a decorator who was just getting his business started. He and his new partner “in crime” redid my kitchen. They told me I was lucky to get them at the time and price I did. They did a wonderful job. I eventually moved, met some of my neighbors here. One of them works for a very nice flooring company. He was telling me about two guys who are exceptional decorators and do incredible work on houses all over the country. Yep, same guys. I really was lucky.

our kitchen remodeling paid us back in full when we put our house up for sale. the husband was only interested in our wood stove, but the wife was ecstatic about the kitchen. one of the best investments we ever made, despite having to put up with a carpenter who was a real d!ck… ☺
