Sorry I did’nt answer my phone when you called the other day. I don’t use it for that.

I don’t answer any unrecognized calls that don’t leave a message.

I kept my old phone number when I moved out of state. The spammers/scammers think I will pick up if the call comes from my old area code. Unless it is one of the few people in my directory from that area, those calls immediately get ash-canned.

I’ll bet they were two tin cans tied on a string.

Did they invent tin cans back then? Probably were copper cans instead.

Could be. In recent studies, some schools found that by requiring phones to be locked in pouches for the school day, student interaction was more open and sociable and classroom behavior was calmer because there was less angst and tension from students.

Sounds good but I’m also guessing that outcome probably reversed itself and redoubled at the end of day when the phones were unlocked.

I usually give the ‘hello grandpa’ doofus a shot in his antecedents. Same for the ‘realtor’ with the untraceable phone who kinda chokes up when I tell him I’ll take a million bucks for my home. One asked if that was my bottom line and I told him it was just the opening offer. He faded. To another, I said $5 million and when she asked why that number, I replied, ‘Because I like it.’ Silence ensued.

I mean after all, why should they have all the fun.

I do keep my phone with me because it is an important piece of emergency equipment. For example, I have an app that tracks my whereabouts so my wife can keep tabs on me when I am out walking in the morning. It also lets me know when she’s getting back from work so I can meet her at the door with a glass of wine.

I am sometimes with people when the phone rings. They ask, ‘Are you going to answer that?" I tell them, "No, I’m not that important."

I don’t use a cell phone….and people who text….why not just CALL and TALK to the person???

The phone is for my convenience, not everybody else…..
