I’m disappointed with the shameful manner in which we denigrate Trump Supporters with the term: “MAGAts” when the most apt word to describe them, considering their positions and their compositions is: “Dingleberries”.
If that means voting for Biden, it is a non sequitur. That would mean voting for someone who actually has dementia. Most of the deplorables have dementia? Who knew? If Georgia looks like a sure thing for Trump, I’ll vote libertarian.
Too many voters today will mindlessly look for the letter® after any candidate’s name and vote for that individual. It’s a conditioned response that they’ve been groomed to make. Behavioral grooming has been a major GQP tool since at least Nixon’s southern strategy.
The yes voters on the dementia test proudly proclaim themselves to be (choose 1)
a) amoral, b) immoral, c) ignorant, d) anti-American (since America IS an idea based on classical liberalism, which Trump rejects), e) all of these
I suspect that if we were to look at Trump’s skull before he pastes his hair down we would clearly see the number 666. Satan’s spawn would be charismatic and attract the worst impulses and instincts in people
I guess I am not surprised by the amount of ignorance displayed in this column by people who have no idea what they are talking about. I am Biden’s age and never once have I been required to take a cognitive impairment test. Because Trump failed his miserably, his idiot followers think Biden needs to fail one as well. It’s like Trump’s demand that Biden take a drug test, just an excuse to get out of a debate he cannot win.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: “Crooked Joe Biden must take a Cognitive Test. Maybe that way we would be able to find out why he makes such terrible decisions. I took two of them and ACED them both (no mistakes!). All Presidents, or people wanting to become President, should mandatorily take this test!”
Highly Narcissistic people can by just as dangerous as the psychopath. It’s just that the psychopath won’t care what Jimmy Kimmel said about him before he kills millions of people.
Regardless of what the jury finds.. the public has found him guilty… and a sizable number of Americans don’t care. The power of propaganda will determine who wins the election.. and heaven help us.
yeah but who’s the other choice?… this is the flaw in a 2-party system. ranked choice voting and far easier access for 3rd parties and independents is needed.
You’ll notice that most MAGAts on this forum don’t actually list any of Trump’s supposed good qualities or accomplishments. Instead they resort to irrelevancies like “you’ve all got TDS” or “Joe Biden’s old”. It wasn’t always like this. Some of them actually used to claim that Trump was a good president, with many successes in office (strong military, prison reform, expanded workforce, detestation of immigrants, others). Well, let’s indulge in the fantasy that they were right, that all his goals were worthy and he accomplished them spectacularly well.
Let me respond using an analogy. Suppose you have a wonderful neighbor who helps mow lawns and shovel sidewalks, regularly donates blood, is kind to children and animals, serves as a poll worker, volunteers at a food pantry, is always willing to lend you a tool or help you move stuff, and never fails to buy Girl Scout cookies. Oh, and he also took a meat cleaver to his wife.
Substitute “tried to overthrow the US government” for that meat-cleaver bit, and you’ll understand why there aren’t enuf Girl Scout cookies in the world to redeem Donald Trump.
I definitely will not be voting for Trump. He was one of our worst presidents ever and he has done nothing to improve. Anyone who attacks Gold Star families, veterans, and current service members isn’t worthy of licking dog crap off of my boots.
There is no real choice this November. There is only the perpetuation, however flawed and feeble you might perceive it, of our fragile 249-year-old experiment or the entropy that will engulf and destroy us if we take the other route. When, as Mercy Otis Warren would say, “The checks of conscience are thrown aside and a deformed picture of the soul is revealed.” The presumptive Republican nominee is the opioid of all opioids, an easy cure for what some believe is the solution to our myriad pains and problems. When in fact with him, you end up re-enslaved with an even bigger problem, a worse affliction and addiction, “a bigger delusion”, James Baldwin would say, the author and finisher of our national existence, our national suicide as Mr. Lincoln prophesies. Do not be seduced by easy equalization. There is nothing equal about this equation. We are at an existential crossroads in our political and civic lives. This is a choice that could not be clearer.
As a veteran of nearly eight years of active service, for me it was when Trump insulted and belittled an American family who lost their son in Afghanistan that he should have been hanged from a lamppost.
