Me, too. It’s so sad to see so many of my generation (Cold War/Vietnam era, especially those who served in the armed forces falling all over themselves to support the orange cannonball doing all he can to destroy this country with his overt lawlessness and insurrection dog whistles. It is truly sad and unnerving since many of their fathers and uncles fought and defeated fascism in WW II. They dishonor the legacy of “The Greatest Generation.”

Only fascists, racists and women’s rights haters are voting for Trump this November.

I know my father would have been angered by the GQP’s embrace of fascism. On June 6, 1944, his Army unit landed on Utah Beach as part of the operation to liberate Westen Europe from the German occupation. It’s probably a blessing that he passed away in 2003 and thus was not able to see the rise of fascism in our own country.

Not sure how you thought that was a helpful statement. Yes, we do have a lot of fascists, but we have more anti-fascists working very hard to keep them at bay despite the deeply imbedded fascists they got in the Supreme Court and other areas. Painting all Americans with the same brush does a disservice to those who daily struggle against the fascists.

Europe now also has its problems with fascists, and rare also struggling to keep them in check. So do all the other continents for that matter.

My dad served in the South Pacific and later in Japan. Oddly he managed to get a desk job. In a way I’m glad he died in 2003. Reagan and the Bush dynasty made him apoplectic. The last few years would have been too horrible for him.
