I can’t help feeling that the UK should also have an Independence day on this day as well. When we look at everything that’s going on over there, we should celebrate the fact we’re well out of it.
July 4th, brought to you by the brave who risked their lives for the belief that all men were created equal with the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They weren’t perfect but I thank God they did what they did.
Ben Franklin was a printer and bon vivant raconteur who had many pithy sayings, but if you want admirable, noble phraseology that would ring down thru the centuries, Tom Jefferson was your go-to guy. His sidekick, Jimmy Madison, was no slouch, either.

The Supreme Court just preserved our rule of law and guidance by the Constitution. I can sleep better now.

George III was the first English head of state to live to be 80. He must have eaten an awful lot of chowder.

Not much has changed in 248 years, only the chowderheads are now on this side of the pond.

Outside of the land owning class in England, white males in the American colonies were the freest people on earth.

It’s July 4. Thank you and prayers for the men and women who still hold the line.
Thank you and prayers for the fallen, the wounded, the ‘damaged’ and their families, loved ones, and caretakers.
If not for their sacrifice, we would no longer be able to call this Independence Day.

That opening line sounds like one that was edited from the intro to the first debate. Wonder which one would have been ‘chowder head.’ H-m-m-m-m

At least they didn’t start out with “He had a cold and a bad night”.

Maybe you can end with “King George is a Chowdahead”.

They should have gone with the draft provided by the Zaporozhian Cossacks.

Love it! Thanks for the laugh. Happy 4th to you, also, Mr Thaves.
PS: I still think your dad would be immensely proud of you for how you’ve carried on this strip. It is as priceless and funny as it ever was.

All this arguing and no one bothered to point out the obvious historical error in the comic.
