I was extremely bored in school. I would do assignments a week in advance. That gave me time to read in class. Teachers would try to “catch me out” with surprise questions, but that never worked. I was hard on educator blood pressure. :)
I wonder how many people know that making a “3-point landing” refers to the tricky skill of landing a tail-wheel airplane in a way that all three wheels touch (and hopefully stay on) the ground at the same time. Made many of them while I was still flying, and some were even fairly good!
I love how the shape of Spaceman Spiff’s eye protector lenses change with every panel they are visible. In every strip. And of course the rest to it. Hard to believe this I over 30 years old. Sad that very little has come to approach its brilliance.
I do not remember any of my teachers at Calvin’s age, I remember the nuns that ran the school though especially Mother Principal and her ruler… Smeagol why are you not in class? Did you sneak out? Hold out your hand, Whack, go back to your classroom lol

Calvin would be great on the current “Gasoline Alley” arc—much better than the kid Jones and the doll Ida Noe!

I wonder if there exists a teacher who could utilize Calvin’s brilliant imagination as a tool to help him learn. It sure ain’t Miss Wormwood!
