Gil was piloting a plane when he had his heart attack / stroke / aneurysm / black-out. I’m glad Beth was also a trained pilot and could bring them down.
4 days ago I posted The Gilfather would feel the effects of student body right with a broken leg. Laid up with no cards or Get Well Soon balloons. One economy flower vase, probably from Marty. Beth looks different, ala from the Jerry Jenkins era.
Okay, I’ll admit my last comment about the mid-game collision being abandoned without explanation was unjustified given this development. I’ll admit admit that this is a pretty clever plot twist (for once).
(But I still won’t forgive the mid-game discussion about Gil’s love life that set it up.)
Beth looks a little frazzled after holding that pillow over Gil’s head longer than she thought it would take. Don Vito from Goshen told her Gil was starting to demand a bigger statue and was getting hinky about covering the spread. She already stole the watch off his arm, and movers are at the house loading furniture while she watches Judge Judy reruns on the television above the bed.
So instead of using the ambulance that is typically going to be at every high school game anyway, it was faster to call for and send a helicopter from one part of Milford to the high school, land on the 40 yard line, then fly to the hospital rather than just use the ambulance and go through the two or three stoplights on the way?
Hmm. I don’t like the shape of her dialog balloons. And the “not directly coming from someone’s mouth” boxes, like in P3, are supposed to be square. I don’t like it! And speaking of stupid, petty complaints, my biggest one would be you not reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
Okay, who takes over the Football Team, while Gil is in Recovery, Luke, Cami, etc.? Does Kaz come back to save the day, or does Milford forfeit the rest of the season until Gil recovers? Tune in tomorrow, same Bat time same Bat channel.

I was half expecting Mrs. Coach Thorp there, and the whole Beth thing was a coma dream. Too “Dallas Shark Jump”?

I do appreciate the detail in the artwork from the new artist: lines on the blinds, the detail in the camera,,,and no large hands!

No IV going, no monitors, no tangles of wires, maybe it isn’t as bad as we thought; either that or Coach is already in hospice care.

Pretty cool Gil gets to stay in his street clothes as opposed to those stylish hospital gowns.

The new artist may come in with a splash and draw Gil as a dead man. Whatever Gil is suffering from, that band-aid will fix it.

Gotta say that the detail on the camera in P2 is amaze-balls.

P-1: Milford Medical, now we know where the Athletic budget cuts went!
P-2: To justify the storyline, the reporter tells the residents of Milford why Gil Thorp rates a news story.
P-3: To treat a concussion, the crack Medical Team apply a band-aide to Gil’s inner elbow.

In his unconscious state is Gil demonstrating that he is really, really excited about the nurse who just left?

P3- Beth perks up when she sees the bump in the sheets.
