My high school English teacher (from Wisconsin) told us one time about the first time she asked where the bubbler was in a store or something in New York, and nobody understand what she had meant. All of us, being from New York or New Jersey, had no idea what she was talking about, either.
Ah, Mr.Henry – you truly are from the New England area. I have not heard said water dispensing device referred to as “bubbler” (pronounced ‘bubb-lah’) since I left elementary school in the middle of the last century.
