The first part of the Bible quote is usually left out.

You don’t have to love money (has in musk, orange lobster) but it is pretty required to have

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. By craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 He who loves money is never satisfied by money, and he who loves wealth is never satisfied by income. This too is futile.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”

For some people, the lack of money is the root of all evil.

And how many here are rooting (double meaning) for evil?

It might seem that if you allow the presence of dandelions in your lawn your neighbors will think you love the root of all evil.

I don’t have a love for money since we’re only passing acquaintances.

A love of money and an appreciation of having money are very different things, methinks.

Whether you have any or not, making every decision based on money is wrong. Use stuff to bless people, don’t use people to get stuff.

The biggest problem is when $ becomes an obsession and no matter how much one has it’s not enough.
