You won’t find Calvin’s picture next to “Well adjusted”.

I just remembered a comic I drew as a kid where a guy laughs evily after chopping a chicken’s head off, then the chicken’s body stands up and kicks him in the shin, and then the chicken’s head jumps up and bites his finger.

The comic ended with the guy’s head chopped off, the chicken’s body holding the axe in one wing, and the chicken’s head clucking sadistically.

Hilarious. Take a pill, Mom.

Ah, it’s great to see Calvin’s snow creations again. But couldn’t he have made the victim look more like Col. Sanders??

Chickens always love a good reason to cackle.

This has been my favorite since it was first published.

I see years of therapy for mom!

An interesting question: How much overlap between “Creative” and “Well- Adjusted” might there be on a Venn diagram?

Watterson captures the essence of the parental experience of wondering if your child has a few loose screws.

And once again, our hero Calvin ably demonstrates the fine line between genius and insanity!

I’ve always wondered how Calvin got the shading and definition done so well on his snow creations.

Watterson does it for him, and he’s an expert.

Just how many kids make snowmen killing each other with REAL weapons?

I suspect very few artists are “well-adjusted”.

That kid’s got talent!

My neighbours kids built a snow fort. They are Susie’s.

Calvin grows up and adopts the nom de plume Gary Larson!

This always made me laugh as a kid, seeing a big snow chicken.

Calvin did this as a character building exercise.

I have no recollection of this particular strip. I’m sure I would have since it is so unique from Calvin’s other snowman creations.

I’d like to see Warner Bros work this into a Foghorn Leghorn comic.

‘Well-adjusted’ could refer to the change of attitude ‘Joseph’ had when he was tossed into a murky well by his agitated ‘bros’.

That ‘well-adjusted’ expression started centuries ago.

Snow men are soooooo boring!!!!!

Took me a minute to see the ax instead of a stick through a hole in the ball. Then to see that headless dead snowman.

At least he has a sense of justice. Except for his own actions.

He must’ve cleaned up before he showed his mom his artwork. There must’ve been a ladder and some other tools involved in creating it.

Not that sculpture, for one thing.

To start with, anything that involves an axe requires adult supervision.

Did you know you can fold the chicken head under a wing and it will walk around like that?

Should pour water down the side so the ice could be the blood running out.

Calvin’s snow sculptures really do show a tremendous sense of creativity. I wish his parents would recognize this.

You can google Miracle Mike the headless chicken beheaded but lived for a year or more, I think in the 1940’s. In Fruita, Colorado.
