Iā€™m surprised more defendants donā€™t refuse to waive their right to a speedy trial. I think itā€™s a good strategy for many. The prosecution is rarely ready to go at the time of charging, and the shorter the prep time, the less the lawyer will cost.

If you give the right coin to Trump, his DOJ will not even prosecute.

First, take a year to file charges. Second, slow walk those charges for years.

The bast way to stay out of prison ā€” for those who intend to commit crimes ā€” is to be born white, rich, and connected.

Not the speedy trial process thatā€™s the problem here ā€“ itā€™s the shyster lawyer.

In a mock jury trial, Iā€™ve seen an award change by a million dollars with about that level of decision making.

Just to clarify, The term Speedy Trial refers to the time to get to trial, not for the length of the trial. Choosing not to be tried by a jury, will speed up the time to trial even more. The fastest way is to plead guilty.

The legal system in America is a joke stating with the rubber stamp Supreme Court and working itā€™s way down.

It exists only to persecute non-billionaires and ā€œenemies of the stateā€ (AKA Trump).

If the defense doesnā€™t like the coin flip, they can flip it again the next day and say theyā€™re introducing new evidence.
