Our late Shepherd mix who passed away last week would refuse to eat her food, wet or dry, unless it had powdered duck meat on top of it. I tried putting some of it on our remaining dog’s, a Great Pyrenees, food and she looked at me as if I had lost my mind and walked away. I guess she got hungry enough to eat it later. The bowl was empty.
It’s funny, I adopted a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix, and the only treat that he consistently likes is cheese. He will eat bacon, but not Beggin’ Strips which are made with real bacon.
One of my dogs is 17 years old and only has about 3 teeth left, so she has to eat finely chopped or soft foods she can slurp up. If make her scrambled eggs she will only eat it if it has shredded cheddar on top.
Ours get a yogurt garnish, but then they are elderly dogs and the vet advised that a little plain no fat yogurt would be good for their digestive tracts.
My wife has spoiled our current dog such that cheese is virtually a requirement on top of his food. I sometimes call him our cheesehĂĽnd. We buy shredded cheddar in two pound bags, mostly for him.
guy out walking and finds a magic lamprubs it, genie come outgenie says “thank you for releasing me! i will grant you three wishes.”guy says “ok- i wish dogs would live as long as their owners.”genie says “Good one!! you still have three wishes.”
I look at mine and say “You will eat it as I made it or I will pull it and you will go without.” He looks at me like a 14 year old human does (the child will remain nameless, but he knows who he is) when I serve broccoli with dinner. To both, I am unmovable to protest.

My husband says, with a great deal of truth, that I would eat a brick if someone put cheese on it.

I had a dog once, I would make him a salad when I had one. He would only eat it if I put Catalina salad dressing on it.
