Nice that J.J. put in the definition to keep the censor at bay.
For a short time MTV had “Four Play Weekend,” where they would play four videos in a row by the same artist across the bottom of the hour, from :20 to :40. My mom heard the name of the promotion and just about had a heart attack.
When I was a kid my dad tended to work late and often came home after me (and my sisters when they came along) were asleep. But on Valentine’s Day he would home while we were still awake and bring a chocolate heart for each of us (and I am sure something for mom also.
When husband and I were first together we would make a big deal of it also. I don’t like to get gifts and over the decades I have convinced husband not to buy or make me gifts for any occasion (something which annoys the heck out of him – but I point out to him how rare a person he is – he has already given me everything I need or could want). (He does get gifts for birthday/anniversary/Christmas as he likes to get same.)
So dinner out is about all there is. This year I had suggested we go on Thursday night to the Asian buffet (only eat dinner out there and Ikea – and Ikea only on Tuesday half-price entree night) as since the start of Covid we have been avoiding crowds. But we went on Friday night. We have been eating at this restaurant for maybe 10 years and have never seen it so crowded. When we were leaving at 8:30 or so the lobby was still jammed with people waiting for a table. Whether this was due to the holiday or because it was Friday (or a combination) I don’t know. I am glad that they get business like this.

Gosh, whatever might that event be?

Well that definition makes more sense for the instrumental that precedes Long Time on Boston’s iconic first album.

JJ doesn’t adorn his copyright very often but today is one of those days. That and couples do develop a kind of coded play on words.
