Beheading was usually reserved for royality/upper class (Mary Queen Scots/Charles I) while the common fold were hanged which if not done properly could be very painful-slowly strangled to death.
With the gutting of the Department of Education and the attack on Colleges and books, it brings to mind a quote from another individual who is associated with the guillotine.
âThe secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.â â Maximillian Robespierre
Heâs safe. If he opens the âbear doorâ itâll just hit his paws and not open. Hinges are on the bear side so itâs a âpushâ not a pull! Am I thinking too much into this?? SighâŠ.
Using logic (I know, a comic strip) executions were generally in the town square. With the bear sitting down and the man having any energy at all, he should be able to get to a building before the bear could stand up. Or mix with the crowd and the bear would get someone else. You donât have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the guy next to you.
This bears (ha!) a disturbing resemblance to our two party electoral system. We need to stop voting for millionaires and start voting for our own best interests before the top 1% gain control of 100% of everything. They already have over 90% of the wealth, and are currently taking complete control of our top branches of government.

If he chooses the wrong door, he can run and put the executioner between him and the bear.

Sounds very contemporary for the hog trough on the Potomac.

Heâll have to get away from the bear no matter which door he picks!

Two choices could have been with that particular executioner or burning at the stake. Your choice, cold chop or a hot steak.

Does not look like the door with the bear can even be opened. Huh?

It is an unusually patient bear that sits, smiling behind a closed door in such a narrow wall.

It seems that the bear can get him at either door.

Quick painful death compared to being mauled and slowly consumed by a bear. Have at ye.

I like the Run sign, if he took that door make a U turn and see if the bear would go for the executioner instead.

Yeah, sure, ârun.â I imagine there would be a slight pause as to say: âWhat the ⊠? Run? What do you mean run?â.

âHe goes wa-wa, wa-wa-wa, waltzing with bears.
Raggy bears, shaggy bears, baggy bears too.
And thereâs nothing on earth Uncle Walter wonât do!
So he can go waltzing, wa-wa-wa waltzing,
He can go waltzing, go waltzing with bears."
Chorus from âWaltzinâ with bearsâ
words and music by Priscilla Herdman
A great little song, loved by children and the young at heart.
you know what triggered this memory?
