I read some time ago that the advent of targeted advertising was when some department store advertiser realized that there was a whole cluster of things that pregnant women bought… and when they noticed that pattern, they sent ads for baby gear and stuff for a new mom. They were successful, but if I recall correctly, forced to stop because that was too intrusive. Before the internet or cell phones of course. Those were the days…
One thing that amazes me about the people who walk while looking at their cell phones, is that som many do it without having accidents. If I get a text while I’m walking, I have to step over to the side before pulling out my phone and looking at it. And I certainly couldn’t answer it while walking.
Next time you’re out in a public area where there are people walking/standing, try every once in a while to look up from your phone screen and observe the posture of those around you — especially that of older/elderly with curvature of the spine of such severity that their necks are permanently crooked forward, resulting in their faces (and eyes) are permanently facing downward.
Realize that constantly peering at your screen, especially while standing/walking, may very well result in permanent forward/downward neck curvature. Ask yourself if that potentially permanent outcome is one you truly wish to continue risking — along with the risk of literally walking into holes or solid objects which may result in injury, or even death.
The other night, I was watching The Irrational , where the plot revolved around a community theater production of “Little Shop of Horrors.” I was also playing some games on my phone while the show was on, and since I don’t PAY for games, I’m stuck with ads.
Well, suddenly I got an ad for an “AI program to read with you to prepare for auditions”! Mind you, I’m not in any community theater, and I don’t audition for anything. But it was apparently listening to my TV show! What’s even scarier are the times I’ve just thought of something, not voiced it out loud at all, and gotten a related ad.

A reading from the acts of anti-defense systems:
1. Make sure you carry an electronic phone in your hand .
2. Be unaware of your surroundings and oblivious to others.
3. After you get injured, maimed or attacked, it might be easier to locate you because you invested in and clutched onto a tracking device.

You actually pay attention to the ads?

Most of my targeted ads are for stuff I just bought. No, Google, I don’t need another six office chairs like the one I just bought.

Those who prey on other people look for someone like him, eyes glued to the phone unaware of his situation.
