PS: I was close. Last week I said that Ox’s dad was a lawyer. It turns out it’s his uncle. Uncle’s going to contact WW’s management and spill the beans about Ms Awful’s attempts to have his nephew commit perjury.

Somebody in here did say he might just go to BURGERBOX and eat there if Ann threaten to deny him privileges to eat at WW. Is it a coincidence that that somebody picked the name “Burgerbox” or was it mentioned in a passing in old strips?Yup, the manager at BB will be much nicer and non-threatening!

I worked for an office manager like Ann. Greg has done his homework. People like this must have read that popular book from the 1970’s WINNING THROUGH INTIMIDATION.

Ox’s Uncle and Ann’s lawyer is the same person. He gets wind of this and drops her like a hot potato

I once had a boss like Ann, pretty, cruel, managed emotionally, cussed at us in front of customers, manipulated us every chance she got. It was VERY satisfying to see an ‘out of business’ sign on the door 9 months after I and 5 other people quit.

Maybe TJ will be the new manager soon.

Ok, the sides are drawn. The stars are aligned. TJ warned Ox not to sign anything so Ox knows he’s a friend. But Ann’s got another scheme brewing.Unfortunately for her, when she tries to sue BOTH Shannon for the bite and Ox for stealing her paper, TJ will refuse to testify on her behalf.Poor Ann. I always root for the underdog.

I think that she knows that her expectations of winning the lawsuit are long gone and now it will be a struggle to merely keep her job.

Greg is the real hero here. He is a master of making the villain bad, badder, baddest, and stretching it out for suspense, before bringing him crashing down, humiliated, to the thunderous cheers and applause of the audience.

Aside from the fact that offering the paper to Ox for him to sign was incriminating in itself, the fact that she did give it to him for that purpose gave him the right to hold onto it for his consideration. There is no way she could sue him for going away withit.

Great, now Ox is forcibly stealing Ann’s property by virtue of his size and strength, but it’s okay because no one likes Ann. This whole Ann arc has really showed TJ, Toni, Brad, and Ox aren’t any better than Ann is.

I like Knute. He’s a true cartoon character, as is Tiffany. All these attacks on my man remind me of that old song from the late 50s performed by the Coasters. “Charlie Brown”. Charlie sings, “why is everybody always pickin’ on me?”

Actually, Ann did fire TJ earlier. But before he left, he showed her the sales record which proved that (as promised) he DID double sales compared to other employees. It would have looked bad on Ann to fire the best employee, so she had to let him come back.Unless someone who can actually up-sell better than TJ comes along, he’s not going anywhere… unless he wants to.

Hmm, is Ox going to end up sending Ann to OxFam?

This plotline is so boring that I’m beginning to root for Ann to kick butt on everyone.

That’s what greed always gets you, Ann. If you just provided a nice product for a hungry Ox, all would be happy, including you.

That was a very funny litany, not original, but funny and I liked it….but then I like Knute, too. What can I say?

Just be sure you never go to the circus, Leviticus. The clowns there would be lost on you. And the court fools of the Renaissance era were highly intelligent, as it happens. Knute is a clown and not as dumb as he pretends. he also has a sense of humor.

I have a feeling that Ann Eiffel is going to end up in the Defendant’s Chair.

Somehow her only move is to aim to turn the fault on her ace up-seller. It won’t work, though, it’s only the required squirming of the evil worm on the hook of truth. Etc. I like melodrama. That’s how you handle ‘battles’ in comedy.It turns on Italian comedy…mistaken identity, in this case. “I, madam, who you thought to be a fool and easily your tool, am actually an ethical moderately intelligent person with a powerful attorney( or ’king”) as my Uncle/FAther/Big Brother…etc. My Daddy can beat you up"…that kind of comedy.

When has Knute cheated? Tiffany, yes – but I can’t recall that he ever cared enough about his grades to bother..Also, “parasite” is a bit harsh. C’mon- any teenager without a job is a parasite.

The statement Anne had is only false if Ox signs it because he didnt witness the event although at one point he tells Anne he might have. It would not have been false if TJ had signed it because he did witness Shannon bite Anne. The statement apparrently does not have a name on it since she asked both Ox and TJ to sign.

I might give someone a copy of my will and ask them to sign their name to it as a witness.

That’s not exactly an apt analogy, since in no instance I can think of would you ever give someone a copy of your will and ask them to sign their name to it. .If your CPA presented you with a tax return that grossly misrepresented what you actually owed to the IRS and tried to get you to sign it, suggesting that you could split the inflated refund, wouldn’t you try to take it so that you’d have proof of his dishonesty and his attempt to coerce you into making a false statement? .It’s actually your civic duty to report fraudulent activity – and fraud is what Ann is committing by insisting Ox sign that false witness statement. Don’t be distracted by the fact that he’s bigger and was able to use it to his advantage – depriving Ann of a fraudulent instrument isn’t something anyone would press charges on. If someone has prepared a legal instrument that contains a false statement and is trying to persuade or coerce you to sign your name to it, you’d be a damn fool not to take it from them, by any means possible short of battery or breaking and entering. .Ox’s uncle, btw, had better not be so dismissive. As an officer of the court, he has legal responsibility to report Ann’s attempt to commit fraud, especially if her attorney has drawn up the statement for Ox’s signature. (Yeah, I know it didn’t happen, in the Luanniverse Ann can produce legal documents out of nowhere). The statement could be used to build a case for fraud, suborning perjury or other criminal charges, and certainly could be used to demonstrate proof of mens rea, deliberate intent to deceive. .At the very least, Toni could use it to prove that Ann has violated the “doctrine of clean hands” – in other words, she has acted unethically or in bad faith in bringing her complaint.

Leviticus, Your discription of Knute as a parisite is dead on. There are a number of jobs that require neither intellectual capacity, nor honesty nor even a work ethic, yet would allow him to support Crystal in the style to which she wishes to become accustomed.

Knute is perfectly suited to run a hedge fund or manage a private equity firm for example.

Doesn’t matter. She got a dosage of her own medicine from the time she tried to grab crown from Shannon. Now see how she likes it….

We met our own Ann Awful last weekend — at a local Great Indoors store. Wouldn’t allow her employee to put an expensive rug “on hold” for 1 day until we could get there (an hour away from our home). We got the rug, she lost a customer. It became pretty obvious why they are going out of business. All I could think of was this comic through the whole ordeal — so perfect.

mojitobaby: Crockett never went by Davey, never wore a coonskin cap, and while his legislative career was blunted by his opposition to Jackson’s genocide policies, he did manage to get some benefits for veterans before going to Texas.

I was going to opine, ‘How did she get this far?’ Then it dawned on me…yeah, I’ll just bet I know how she got this far. Ann is now going to, as the line in an old joke goes, find out that she can’t ‘do’ the audience.
