Mysta and Annie don’t seem at all disturbed or surprised.

[Mind you, Annie presumably already knew, and Mysta at least suspected.]

It’s possible there’s already a Lunerian Psionic Link beginning to form between the two.

Another great poem, Avenger (though I’m pretty sure she didn’t wake them up till 6—and Honeymoon, Annie, and Junior seemed to already be awake—but that’s nitpicking). Your poems are getting better all the time.

Yesterday, @Pequod wrote:It may also be noteworthy that both Venus and Apollo have hair styles that would hide a “B” that was branded on their foreheads. The “B” brand was one of Bribery’s many eccentricities as crime boss.

Now that you suggest that, I’m 99% sure that they have! I wish I had thought of it. I’ve been suspicious of Venus’s hairstyle from the first time we saw it, only I didn’t think of a brand.

Funny, but YEARS ago when Frankenmindy asked Honeymoon about them, she said that she didn’t have horns at all..just little nubs (or something to that effect),,,did she mean she**WONT** have them or that they just DIDNT sprout yet? Judging by the panel where it was asked, I took it to mean that she woulnt have the horns..also, she mentioned..if I recall correctly.. that she didn’t have her magnetic powers anymore either.<P?

either that’s one HELLUVA foreshadowing twist, or team tracy has backstepped a bit and retro’ed their own canon

personally, I think its the latter. Seems that team tracy tends to get a bit “in over their head” at times when it comes to long drawn out stories. Perfect example is the current one… WHERE IS JOHNNY ADONIS?!?!?!?!

Yup. Looks pretty certain to be budding antennae, as I suspected. The other kids at school, or at least some of them, namely the bullies, must have seen the growths and made fun of Honeymoon for being “different.” That’s the way bullies are—totally the opposite of Mysta and Annie here today (panel 3).

    Morning, Tracyville!

Honeymoon was born September 14, 1965. She weighed 6 lbs, 2 oz. The first pictures were in the strip for September 26, 1965, where she was described as having “protrusions covered with soft blond hair,” instead of horns. The protrusions have not changed since then, until now.

I suspect this has another meaning from our esteemed writers/artist. Hence It’s nice to see Honey being able to ‘come out of the closet’ to her parents, her big sister, and friends.

Things have changed for the better, since 1978. I wish her the best and I would certainly welcome her.

Sorry, but I’m confused. How can Mysta’s horns “work” if they aren’t real? Or ARE they real? And what’s with the sister thing between Honey and Mindy? I thought Honey called her Aunt Mysta.

The interesting thing I’ve noticed is Jr.‘s reaction to all this. Once he woke up (he was pretty sleepy when Mysta rang the doorbell), notice his facial expression. It’s almost whimsical – a slight smile, but not registering any kind of concern. Even while he was gathering the rest of the family to hear Honeymoon’s big reveal, he seemed relaxed – like maybe he knows (or suspects) what this is all about. I mean, his daughter is in tears, Mysta, who is really not a family member shows up at 6 am to say “Something is wrong with your daughter, I just know it”, and he’s all “Ho-hum, let me gather up everybody so you can tell us.”

Is that supposed to be Jewel Tracy on the lower left of panel 1? This is from Jewel’s wikia page (http://dicktracy.wikia.com/wiki/Jewel_Tracy): “Due to inconsistent coloring, Jewel’s hair has been alternately depicted as blonde (like her mother’s) or light red/orange (like her father’s). Blonde is generally considered the more accurate color.” It looks brown here to me.

Guess I get to be comment #57. Maybe..My two cents worth:.Regarding yesterday’s Dick Tracy, in which Mike and Joe drop their biggest hint as to who “Mr. Bigg” might be….Views from under the bridge:.In my humble opinion, a far more plausible story might be the discovery that the real Mysta Tracy survived the blast, after all! Let’s consider this on many levels..One, Mysta was, IMHO, a far more worthy candidate for bringing back from the dead. Nevertheless, this is a cops and robbers comic strip, and life isn’t always fair in this strip. If it were, the original Moon Maid would not have died in the first place. (Groovy Grove might still be with us, as well). As for Mindy Ermine becoming the “real” Moon Maid, just ask nature’s real life clones: Identical twins. In real life, two individuals sharing identical DNA does not produce two people with one soul. Indeed, for Mindy to truly become Mysta, Mysta’s spirit would have to take over Mindy’s body. Christians have a name for this phenomenon, and it’s called possession. In general, possession is not a good thing..Two, the gold: If Mr. Bigg has it so quickly – Doubleup and Blaze haven’t even reported back to BB Eyes or anyone, and I seem to recall that when BB Eyes told Mr. Bigg that he thought he knew who might have gotten it, he didn’t drop Jimmy’s name. (That’s when Doubleup and Blaze got involved).Three, Mr. Bribery’ rebirth: I would say his death was at least as convincing as Mysta’s. Nevertheless, I understand that enough holes were left that his survival is now plausible. Again, I am not a fan of immortal villains. No matter how popular Flattop was, he’s dead and needs to stay dead. Methinks the same of Bribery..Food for thought: We already have one “chimera”: How do we know that Bribery won’t be the next chimera?.Bribery Chimera?!?.It was but a couple of months ago when we were speculating that perhaps Mr. Bigg was going to be Batman’s Penguin – and I remember the adrenalin that speculation produced. Of course, the return of Mr. Bribery seems to have generated even more adrenalin: He is a Gould original, and Mike and Joe would have a lot more freedom to do anything with him (such as, well, to kill him) than they would a criminal from another franchise..But the more I think of it, the more I’m thinking like, this is not the real Mr. Bribery..Bribery Chimera….Or, how about, Franken-Bribery!

@Ray TolerFrom the strip you posted: “This child is the forerunner of millions to be born of interplanetary parents as a result of that vehicle.”

Apparently, this didn’t even begin to come true. Unless someone more familiar with the moon era of the strip can fill me in, it seems that Honeymoon may be the only one. (… disregarding the fact that the Moon is not actually a planet, so “interplanetary” may not apply.)

Is anyone else bothered by the science fiction elements in Dick Tracy? Oj, I love mike’s writing, and Honeymoon,Mysta?

This is a world where over 15 years ago (Subjective time) It was revealed there were moon people to the public, not to mention Diet’s far-advanced technology that was beyond it’s time – in the 1960’s,and subjectively what would have been the turn of the century. (oooh,Diet Smith and the Y2K scare would make a great flashback story!)

How can Dick Tracy’s world have elements of Realism with Scifi Elements? Diet locking away all the technology and then destroying it makes no sense if those tools can better mankind, and the use in law enforcement.

Mike’s trying to have it both ways – classic 1950’s style Tracy (The strip feels closest to that era – which is the Era Mike grew up with) with touches of 1960’s Sci Fi Tracy.

Hmmmmm…..got to kinda side with the “whiplash” crew a little here…….really no need to switch completely every single day…….I mean, the storylines are great and there’s no danger of anyone leaving, and you somewhat lessen the momentum you’ve built up. I mean, it’s not like you’re trying to sell a product, and this is a tv show, and you need to make sure the viewers remain transfixed……and heck, we are, anyways!
