I wonder if this game is rare enough to warrant a real stakeout rather than the “imaginary” one we got the last time? We should find out shortly. Tracy didn’t need Rick or Steve after all.
These POW Monopoly sets weren’t even confirmed (or maybe even thought) to exist until the last 15 years or so, so if the Tracyverse has an existing copy that would be a huuuuge deal. Would definitely make sense as a target. This is more interesting trivia than the previous game stuff, at any rate.
It does sort of render the whole Pawn Stars stuff redundant, although of course we all knew that was nothing more than fan jerk anyways.
I thought that the POW Monopoly games would have been destroyed as they were simply the packaging for the equipment needed for escape. However, there might have been more produced than used.
I wonder if this was actually an unused game left over after the POWs were liberated, and found years later. (Like those “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters that were never needed since the Nazis didn’t ever invade England.)
Rick and Steve were too ignorant to know about the Monopoly game so their appearance was nothing but a name drop guest appearance for no purpose whatsoever (what were they even doing in Tracyville?). Chief knew about this rare Monopoly game but he held back the info until now for some reason. They should have drawn a light bulb over Tracy’s head for finally coming to a clear conclusion for once. It is the same conclusion that I have come to: The Rick and Steve stuff was total baloney and worthless filler and made them out to look like fools. I’m convinced that the only one smart enough to solve this stupid, dragged-out case is the chicken.
Somehow, Police Chief Pat Patton knows what the guest TV game “experts” didn’t (or held back for one reason or another). In fact, he knows what real-life experts deny, namely, that there is a surviving example of the POW Monopoly game (repeating the linked account I used yesterday https://tinyurl.com/2qpe53nz ). How the Antique Show & Sale at Tracyville’s Locher Auditorium came by it is an Unexplained Mystery. Even more mysterious is how Patton knows about it before the weekend show opens. Did he get an advance prospectus from the producers/bookers of the show? Does he have a confidential informant who happens to work there? Or is Pat simply a “don’t ask questions” vehicle being used by Mike to propel Tracy to yet another exhibit/show/convention at the Locher, where maybe the MCU will finally be efficient enough to ensnare Gameboy.

Good morning™, antiquers!
Rick and Steve weren’t as useful as they could have been, when the Chief knows more about this stuff than anything they said.

Tracy will be there for the stakeout, unless Klinique and Chick Tracy II drop by again. Priorities!

“Neither Rick nor Steve mentioned this”
1. Could they be in on it?
2. Could they be frauds?
3. Could they have only been name dropping, ego trip characters?
4. Who says “Nor” in their mind??
5. Where’s B.O.‘s chicken, I’m hungry!
6. Where’s the bathroom, I forget!
7. Where am I?
8. Why is Gweedo with his goats so much?
9. Firestrike,,,,why???

Maybe the Chief could star in his own TV reality show, drawing on his deep knowledge of trivia to solve crimes.

The thing to do is plant a tracer on that game just in case……

More rare than the map, which was the only one there was? Hard to get rarer than one-of-a-kind.

I’m wondering how PAT knew about this rare item coming up for display/sale at the show, and, the Pawn Stars didn’t.

1-CHIEF: Hold on, Tracy. My watch is showing a commercial.
2-DT: Wait! Weren’t we working on a case involving some guy who stole games? CHIEF: I dunno. YOU’RE the detective.
3-DT: Hmmm. I’m almost certain we were! Well, neither snow NOR rain NOR heat NOR gloom of night will keep me from…something… Lunch? I forget.
