How frightening.

April’s got a point: how does she know there’s nothing in the tub…? And for that matter, how do any of US know what’s in OUR tubs, or lakes, or oceans that we hop into so recklessly?

They must have some serious water problems if April can’t see all the way to the bottom of that otherwise empty tub.

Where’s Michael in today’s strip? On a date with Martha??

How did she get so dirty? She was in the carrier all day.

Give her some bath-toys to fight the bath-monsters and protect her from those things only she can see.

How did she get dirty of she was in a carrier all day? Did they stop at a park before going home?

Do they really in Canada fill up a tub with water nearly to the top to bath a toddler who now is nearly one and a half years old? (October 1st is 5 days away.) Maybe April has already received swimming lessons?

The song, ♫ Alice…where are you going…upstairs to take a bath… ♫ (anyone remember that?) made me terrified of baths when I was a toddler. Well, not of baths in particular, but of staying in the bath when opening the drain.

More “Baby April”, more naked kids on the comics page… oy vey…

People never seem to realize that babies do not know that those sharks and such are in a safe tank, babies see water and panic, think before you take your babies to places.

Yup, that a fear that will follow you the rest of your life. Don’t worry. Soon you will learn, showers. …and then you will learn the name, Alfred Hitchcock.

A bath after a visit to the Aquarium…not a good idea!

At least there’s no Sockness Monster in that bath.

When I was little, I imagined all those monsters lurking around were invisible. I couldn’t see them, but I knew they were there!

Help! She’s feeding me to the sea monsters!!!!!

That’s kind of how I used to feel swimming in a lake. Once in a while I wondered what was beneath me, then tried to shake such thoughts from my mind. Ocean? Always look for sharks.

After taking our two youngest (about 8 and 12 at the time) to watch “Jaws,” we then, the following summer, took them to Lake Tahoe…. neither would get in the water…..

That bath tub has too much water, needs less then half that tub.

It’s a good thing April is a fictional character. After this and Monday’s strip she would now be suing Lynn, pretty much as the wacko guy in the Nirvana album cover.

Nothing except the shark had teeth that she could see. She has a very active imagination.

Really adorable.

Human’s way of imagining the worst is in probably inborn as shown by April.

OI had an irrational fear of water as a child, too. Still do to some degree, but that is mostly lakes, ponds and especially oceans. The fear of the unknown.
