We get a white Christmas about once every decade or so. Better if not: Some of the kin need to travel over a pass to get here.

I wouldn’t change the Thanksgiving shift for anything. Means too much. BUT I wouldn’t mind a true date for when the music, glitz, hype, and displays for Christmas could begin. Saw some right around Hallowe’en. Keeps on, won’t be long before Labor Day sales will have to compete with it.

Even up here in the Great White North we don’t have enough snow for XC skiing.

Here in North Carolina we never get serious snow until late Jan-early february. Christmas for us is nearly always rainy or sunny/warm.

You must have penned this one about a week and a half ago when it was 60 out. I’m NW of Detroit and this morning I’m looking at 4 inches of snow on the ground. Then again, this is Michigan and that could change by this afternoon, but you never know…

Most of the USA is getting a heat dome for Christmas this year. Means there will be less homeless freezing to death this year?

I always dream of a white Christmas!

I used to want a White Christmas until I realized that it’s a day when a whole lot of people are driving who almost never drive.

Here in Illinois, we got a derecho for Christmas.

Here in San Diego if we had a White Christmas it would bring the city to a standstill. I would set up seats and sell Hot Chocolate at the nearest hill and watch the insanity of people who have no clue on how to drive in the snow.

as a child last century I remember wondering if we would have snow by Christmas. That was in New York in the 1960s. As an adult, when I moved to the deep south, it took some used to having a warm Christmas. But I adjusted.

Hope it snows a ton just to make it a White Christmas for you!!

That’s me this year. It’s been so spring-like. Disorienting, and difficult to keep myself focused.

If you wax a snow disc up real good (especially the plastic ones) you can use it on moderate-length grass (like you get about 2 weeks after the last mowing). Not sure about toboggans. Skis work pretty well on hay; the opening of the ski season for Buck Ridge Ski Club was “dry skiing” on the hill by Wick’s Ski Shop (the original one). I don’t know whether Paul or the club bought the bales that were put down.

It’s beginning to look a lot like April, eeeeeverywhere you gooooo….

I skied on a hill covered with iceplants. Just had to wet it down first.

It’s been my experience that we rarely have snow in Eastern New Jersey in December snow if we get some is ususally in February or later.

The new normal can be warmer than it use to be.
