Finally, Luann speaks up. Of course nobody listens. She is the type people walk all over. Luann, it is DEZ’s plan and she invited YOU and BERNICE. You need to TELL this to these idiots. Say, “Look, it is DEZ’s plan and she invited just me and Bernice. Please respect that.” Otherwise, you will have your other foot broken if Jack goes. An arrow in your food. Being eyeballed by a stalker because the girl he is interested in is too busy taking notes. Put your foot down.

Time to brush up on group dynamics. ✨

At least she didn’t say, “Girl’s weekend.” That would have made for a different joke.

I’m amazed….at the trouble Luann gets into.

I can see how Tara and Jack might be hurt if excluded. But Luann does have the right to say she would have to ask Dez and Bernice. If they say no – Luann doesn’t get all the blame.

Luann it’s simple tell the guys that Dez plan the trip and ask her and Bernice to go with her.

What part of “you’re not invited” do they not understand?

A simple ‘you should ask Dez’ is all that is needed.

And now they’ve crossed the line from “oh, they just misunderstood what she said” to full-on unsympathetic jerks. If you’re told that you’re not invited somewhere, you accept it rather than try and weasel your way in. And why would Nil be trying to barge his way in anyway? When’s the last time he was even seen anyway?

I thought they invited themselves a little too hastily.

All probably end up in an old Winnebago or bus in a Wal – Mart parking lot in downtown Pitts.

HOORAY! The camping becomes more and more interesting. They could also do archery helped by a professional teacher, cook the food and surely Dez will be thrilled to stay in a huge tent with a lot of friends. Luann looks happy just at the idea, they are her friends and she love be with them. Bernice, on the other hand…

Nil is indeed on a trip. He ’s not even dressed for the current reality.

The more the (maybe) merrier? Who knows – and who doesn’t want to?

You KNOW damn well they are all going to go. Makes for a crazy arc. Can you say, “Hilarity ensues”?

I am waiting for all these characters to be together on a camping trip. It will be a “trip” and I know it rankles some, but a real hilarity ensues experience. But besides that so much can happen over a Summer, and while even in Luannverse, this will not take all of our Summer, the results will undoubtedly extend way beyond the Summer.

Greg provides a classic “gag-a-day” type strip to end the week. He’s even resurrected Nil to pull it off.

Now the question comes to mind “Where will the strip be Monday?” He’s invested a significant amount of time, ink and creativity in this summer planning episode; four strips at Mooney U. and two at Pitts C.C. This looks like a pretty fruitful summer “camping” arc to be abandoned now. Plus, there seems to be no other compelling arcs to put this on hold. Gunther and Bets are off somewhere; maybe dating. Tiff is in a hiatus with Ann and there seems that there will be no one around to wait on with everyone camping.

So obviously there will be something completely different Monday. :o)

Be very smart to have a manly man like Jack at a camping trip.

There are a lot of comment to the effect that Jack, Tara and Nil are being overly presumptuous in suggesting an expansion of the camping experience. All three are good friends with Luann and have shared “memorable” experiences in pairs or groups. Youthful exuberance for a potentially fun experience is easily overlooked.

Maybe this will lead to Jack, Nil and Tara planning their own campout – if not invited. Woo hoo!

If they all go – Nil is necessary – otherwise four girls plus Jack is kinda strange.

A road trip adventure … I just saw the movie Paul recently (it’s quite good, actually). It reminded of where I think this story line will be – perhaps – heading! … But, without an alien! …

… Then again, we really DON’T know about NIL !!! ;)

Anyone else follow Betty? She had a coworker named Cody and every time I see Nil on here, he reminds me of Cody. Wish I could remember the last time he was on Betty.

These 3 can go camping together near Luann and her group. No need to join the group that already made their plans.

If Luann wants to keep the camping trip an exclusive affair with just Bernice and Dez then she shouldn’t have started talking about it with her Pitt college friends, e.g. “guess who’s going camping?” they think she wants to involve them; then she has to push them away.

Luann has this whole new gaggle of not-quite-friends and still does not seem very happy. I think that if Quill suddenly reappeared, she would fill that empty spot.

I like this twist. I wonder how many other familiar stragglers they can pick up who also like camping on this walk through the campus….. I also like Nil – he’s always been a hoot and his name is the best!
