BAH! You never know who your enablers are.

Wow. Who could have seen that coming?

When Bets says, “Wow. She’s a true friend” she means, “Wow. Tiffany not only lied to Bernice but she lied in a way that made herself look good.”

When Tiffany texts, “Ur a true friend” she means, “You are a true friend.”

You ain’t never had a friend like me.

The smell of mendacity permeates the arc! :o(

So I see Stef did not have a meltdown over Tiff being at the party on Kip’s invite. Is she seething on the inside and all smiley on the outside? And eye-rolling at those texting girls. Bernice’s comment proved my point, @luann1212 . Bernice was happy Tiffany didn’t go to the party because her friend, Bernice, wasn’t invited…and she evidently did not proceed to locate the party and bust it after leaving Tiff’s room. She came back to Study Ball. So she did go to Tiffany’s to check if the party was in her room and if it was, she was gonna confront Tiff for her lie and not inviting her. She’s happy that was not the case and came back all chipper.

Dang – Bernice bought the whole thing – hook, line & sinker. I guess because Friday is approaching and this arc ends…

So, Tiff went back to The Blackout after Bern left? And Steffi seems OK with Tiff being there? Blah! All of the fun (and funny) scenarios that people had proposed for this arc didn’t come to fruition! I’m a little disappointed here. I was hoping for some character growth from Tiff, and possibly turning the tables on Kip/Steffi, but her priorities are still screwed up, and she’s pretty much getting away with lying. So, party on, Tiff, and face the consequences later.

Note that “You’re a true friend” had come up three times in this arc, and most of them are based on lies and misdirection. The jury’s out on Tiff’s “true friend” message to Bets. Do you all think that’s sincere?

And I’m absolutely sure that Steffi will “use” Tiff in the future!

In this brave new world of instant information, there is nothing private or confidential. Who (other than the dim wits at the "Black Out Party, no pun intended) thinks that Bernice won’t catch on that she’s been played for the fool? Will Bernice will take that lightly? Think again Tiffany, and wait and see who your real friends are when the truth becomes known. Just my opinion, but on the subject of “being played”, Stef played Tiffany like a violin.

With all these “true friends”, who needs enemies?

Ah. So Bets DID text Tiffany after all. Thought so. So now, Tiffany owes Bets BIG time. And the The Party was NOT in Tiffany’s room, as far too many fans thought.

There are two unfortunate facts here:

1) Tiffany is a convincing liar.

2) Brainy Nerds in the VAST Luanniverse are apparently all Suckers.

And if Bernice is this EASILY fooled, then Hall A is gonna be party central.

That’s provided Colleges are ever “allowed” to open again.

Bernice got played like a two dollar violin.

MORALLY AMBIVALENT, FAVORING THE DOWNSIDE, BUT STILL A BIT NICE.

and now off of caps but too lazy to retype.

I think Gunther has doubts that lying to Bernice is the best idea. Gunther was upset when he learned that Tiffany went to the party. If Gunther knows Tiffany went back to the party, then maybe he’ll tell Bernice about the party.

I think we might remind ourselves that this may not be over. Further realizations may arise immediately… or in a future arc.

I kinda like this Tiff and Bets friendship

I’m pretty sure this arc is over, but just suppose…. in a twist, tomorrow’s strip:

Dr. Fabbi: All right, class. Today we’re having a test to make sure that everybody truly understands the material before we move on. I’ve told you all about this test 3 weeks ago, so everyone has had adequate time to prepare. No phones, and no laptops for the duration of class. This is an essay exam, where you will write out real-life examples to illustrate the following economic principles….

(Tiff’s head on the desk. She’s hung-over and snoring from the party, which lasted until 4am)

Dr. Fabbi: Miss Farrell? Are you all right? Miss Farrell?

That party seems totally LAME!!

On June 15,2019, the history between Bets & Tiffany.On june 18, 2019, Bets tell Tiffany that Gunther is my boyfriend. On June 19, 2019, Bets & Tiffany are fans of “Tyke to Tycoon” by Cynthia Jha.On June 21, 2019, Tiffany gives Bets a " Souffle Lingerie Chemise" to seal the new camaraderie.On March 20, 2020, the T & B camaraderie finally scored with Tiffany says “Ur a true friend!!”

Well my first thought was correct Bets texted Tiffany in time for Tiffany to get to her room, and play Bernice so convincingly. I am disappointed that Bernice was so easily played, but there is still the wild card that Gunther will blurt out something that will make Bernice get suspicious, or worse. I doubt it but you never know. Bets is a “true friend” she was just worried about Tiffany, and Bets is also adroit. She did not lie, nor put anyone in an uncomfortable position. Tiffany did not come out too good, her devil Tiff must be pleased as punch. Tiffany got what she wanted, lied and manipulated for it, used her friends; she is still the selfish, manipulative Tiff she always has been. Oh well, no one is perfect. I do know that she is going to have a very hard time not flunking out of school, unless Luannverse comes to the rescue. I hope it doesn’t, she has to learn herself.

In the first place, a “Study Ball” is a loony idea; there seems to be far more organizational chatter than studying. In the second place, since when was attendance mandatory?

A spreading the Coronavirus party… Luv the responsible GenZ.

I know this is going to cause grief but.. Is anyone tired of the strip not developing? EVERYONE except for Brad and Toni (when we actually see them) are acting the same as they have been through the years. The change from high school to college really just got rid of some minor characters and have added some new ones. Also according to an interview with Greg with some input from Karen, these strips are written and drawn weeks or months in advance which means nothing will change for the near future. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the strip and am not looking to leave but seeing Tiff go from sitting around Thanksgiving alone to where we are now, makes the past strips nothing to care about or remember

Wow. What a bunch of nice people. I guess I’m old fashioned but I never lied to anyone I called friend.

Has the party wound down? Same four characters that started the party. Steff’s left arm is in cheerleader pose position.

So – WHERE IS the party?? The things that must have happened in the background must have looked like a Three Stooges episode.

This will all catch up to those who are deserving

I wonder what Gunther truly think about this whole story. He seem fine with it. Is He not upset to Tiffany for the way she lied and used him? Dunno… But sure Bets looks ok and Bernice “The implacable” it’s way more naive that she seems. I still think Tiffany should go to the Study Ball and thanks Bets in person. Then, study.

Not much of a college party if everyone is still dressed.

I have wondered why Bernice is considered a “friend”, now I wonder about Tiff. Why does anyone consider Tiff a “friend”? She’s a self-centered, manipulative user IMHO.

Curtain going down. Nothing has changed. A little hide and seek, a little dash of irony, a tad of light humor, and that’s it. On to the next story line express. All aboard.

Careful Tiffany. Once you begin (or resume) down the dark path forever will it dominate your destiny.

Bernice you didn’t get invited to a party. You need to track this party down and break it up. How dare people throw a party and not invite you.

Okay,how did that party get toned down to something “respectable” in the twinkling of an eye? Don’t open the closet or the guy on the floor will fall out.

And who has “clean-up duty” after the party is over?Garbage cans usually contain convincing evidence.

Boy, is Bernice stupid. Apparently she believes Tiffany 100% despite knowing her since grade school.

And Bets is certainly calm about Tiffany partying instead of studying, considering that she knows Tiffany is flunking microeconomics.

Tiff … you deserve Ann.

I thought Bets would be likely to encourage Tif to study rather than party. we have a day to go. Perhaps there is some agreement.

Damn! I had hoped Tif would pass on the party and really study. I guess fun now is more important than her “dream” future. Maybe Bets should have given her a heads up about that.

Tiffany is the worst person in this history of this strip. I hope she ends up living in a box.

I’ll be glad when this arc is over. Even Gunther has strolled down the garden path of deceit. I’m ready for something nice. Brad and Toni, for example. Isn’t it time for her to get pregnant? Luann and Jack playing with Puddles at the park. Something. There’s too much deceit in the world already. Please, can we have some joy and happiness somewhere? Even how they’re all coping with Covid-19 would be preferable to this.

I really don’t think Tiff’s actions here are comparable with Ann Eiffel. All she did was give Bern the slip in order to go to a party. That isn’t nearly as bad as trying to break up couples and stealing money. Though I must say, it’s refreshing to have all the hate not being directed at Bets for once.

Way above, eladee says: “And the skinnier (Tiffany) gets the more like nasty high school Tiffany she gets.”

Amen, and AMEN!

And while a few of you hold out hope that tomorrow will bring something, I don’t. This arc has gone on for a month now, pain in every frame, so the best that G&K can give us now would be a “cliffhanger.”

Heaven forbid this arc continues Monday. In fact, the only way this arc could be more disappointing is if it continues Monday.

And while many of you have piled on me in the past about this, I maintain that, temporarily at least, Tiffany’s weight gain was the best thing to happen to her. And as eladee points out above, Tiffany’s losing weight may well be the worst thing to happen to her.

Last, and certainly least: Perhaps, with all the complaints that Luann doesn’t appear much in her own strip these days, combined with the arcs in which she does appear, she has been useless at best, but more often just plain obnoxious, perhaps G&K are planning a big change, taking us back to the title character.

Until this arc, I enjoyed Tiffany becoming the “star” of the strip.

Now, I’m ready for her to return to “bit player.”

Kind of disappointed. I expected better from the character… But, real world people are just as inconsistent.

So there’s still a chance to see the Black Light Black Jack that Greg (via Kip) promised Back of 26 FEB!?!?

I feel we’ve been deceived. There seems to be a BIG difference between the drunken bacchanal portrayed on March 12th & 13th and the cutesy snacks-and-punch-mixer shown today. The wildness of the earlier depictions set up the emotional intensity in the story relative to Tiffany’s decision. A decision which could determine her character and life path in the future. Now it seems to be just a run of the mill “party.”

Depending on tomorrow’s week ending strip, I feel we’ve been cheated.

I communicate from my work computer,and I may have to stay away from the office as “unnecessary”.SO I’ve got a big question about the past.

Namely,how did T.J. get back into everyone’s good graces?I definitely recall an old arc where TJ and Brad took a road trip to LAS VEGAS.

Brad won a big jackpot but was underage and couldn’t collect.TJ thought up a "phony I.D.scam that only got them in deeper.Brad’s parents had to come and bail them both outand keep their kid from having a police record(which could have impacted his decision to be a fireman).

I’m amazed they let TJ go on LIVING,let alone go into business with him.

I was wrong yesterday. Tiff has NOT matured.

They don’t sound like true friends to me.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if she accidentally sent that text to Bernice?

Bets’ phone is sitting right on the table. If that text shows on it, will Bernice see it?

So the R.A. only cared that it was supposed to be happening in Tif’s room? She did not check anywhere else?

It was a good plan. Fooled Bernice well enough. I doubt it will work a second time though.

Y’all are waaay over playing and over analyzing this. It was just a party!!!! Yes she did deceive her friend, Berniece, but she managed to handle the entire situation and made Berniece feel good (at least for now!) in the process. It is as not a proper or moral thing to do but her only other option was to let Berniece bust the party. And that so did not need to happen. This is a Live and Let Live situation at best. Tiffany wasn’t honest but in the end no one got harmed and she got to party with her new found friends. Those who think she’s turned over a new leaf are in for a big letdown. This arc proves that Tiffany is still Tiffany. And with the new influences of Kip and Stef I predict her path is going to get even more complicated.

It’s amazing how many people are condemning Tiffany for lying to Gunther, when Gunther showed us just a couple days ago that he couldn’t be trusted with the fake story much less the real one.

So, Tiffany got to have her cake, and eat it, too.

When I think about how she pulled this off, plus how she negotiated selling her furniture, Tiffany can be smart when she puts her mind to it.

Now, if only she’d put her mind to getting the business degree she needs to make her dream come true. I enjoy a good party now and then, but if she fails her courses, the party will be over in every sense of the word.

I sense that the Tiffster and Bets are kindred spirits. The enemy of my enemy is my friend (until further notice)….

I fear it’s just a matter of time before that viral footage is seen by someone with even higher authority than Bernice. Then she’ll see what kind of friend Tiffany really is…
