She’s going to choose DEZ!

hey ladies, what makes you think steph will want to decide between living with either of you anyway? she’s got kip, i’m sure she’s content where she is.

What!? Life is fair for other people? I thought life was supposed to be in MY favor!!!

There’s a lot of deciding to do. Won’t draw conclusions but there will be a surprise in store in this arc. Quite certain it will continue next week.

Once again Dez, who never mentioned Steph any time before this alludes to long friendship, and thus why she will room with Steph. But if that was the case why didn’t Dez and Steph arrange to room together at the start of the College stories? Why did she room iwth Bernice? But of course this story is contrived to return to the aborted A Hall story. GnK could hve saved us all a lot of time just just starting a week ago Monday with Tiffany dropping her suitcases and thanking Dez for letting her room here. It’s a done deal. Why waste two weeks of our lives getting there.

Sounds fair to me. I’m starting to like Dez. Because all gardeners are great people…

To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.

That’s her problem- always thinking.

The beginning of a very weird competition between Dez and Tiffany to become Stefi’s new best friend? I hope Tiffany will end up with someone really interesting, maybe a new character. But I hope even more that Luann surprises everyone and has enrolled in the university and that room, so that she can live far away from Bernice.

It is fair and you know it, Tiff. But I suspect Stef will choose you because you are so fun to toy with as she had when you two roomed last year. She so enjoyed seeing your reactions. And so fun parading her boyfriend which she knows you are lusting after. She’s like that. Diabolical.

Now this is mastery of cartoon drawing: the only difference in Dez’ face on panels 2&3 is the angle of her upper lip—yet that’s enough to change her expression from eagerness to hesitancy!

Dez may realize that Stef will be over with Kip most of the time and wants first dibs on what could be an almost “private” room. Plus she might be wary of who is going to be the 4th room mate, kind of like “Lets Make a Deal”, most contestants get jammed up when they say “I’ll take what’s behind door #2 Monty….” Dez is smart enough to know that Stef is better than an unknown commodity.

Something tells me roomie #4 is going to be be Bern but we shall see. I could also see Bets moving in but that makes too much sense. Bern and her “jobsworth” mentality will make living arrangements quite challenging.

Question though, why does Dez want the quad suite so bad? She is definitely going out of her way to get Tiff on board. She probably could have shared a double with Stef so I wonder why the interest in the quad: 1. simply having a bigger living area? 2. The ability to have parties? Or 3. Is it just a way for G&K to get Tiff back on campus…… I’ll pick option #3 Monty……..

Dez says that they will let Stef decide whether she wants to live with “someone like her or someone like Tiff”. Interesting that she put it that way instead of just saying Stef will decide whether she wants to live with her or Tiff. The “someone like” sounds rather uncharacteristic for the always kind, earth mother Dez – almost like a put – down of Tiff…

We have to remember the name of the strip is Luann. Somehow Luann will get a spot in the quad. Looking at Dez from the first panel to the last she seems to have gotten prettier. I would like to know what skin products Dez and Bets use.

I’ve never actually sat and watched paint drying before……However, I do think that it would be slightly more exciting than this.

Seriously, what’s the plan here? Is Dez trying to hook up with Stef? Was Dez gay or was it the other girl who’s name I forgot? And does Tiff want to live with Stef to get a chance to steal Kip?

Sigh… Still better than Bernice or Bets.

Of course, another alternative is to open up the mansion for herself and three other students. Although she’d probably need her dad’s permission.

Tiffany should stay in the 30 room Farrell Mansion and wait for Tom Farrell to return. Tiffany can quit her job at the Fuse.

Look, if you’re hot for Stef’s friend, just go knock on her door – HEL-LO!

Doesn’t a “quad” room =4 persons sharing a room?

We all know that Dez and Stef have absolutely nothing in common and would have probably never even have crossed paths at the university, but with that aside, Dez is smart to chose rooming with the cheerleader because Stef will never be in the room they share. She will always be with Kip. Tiffany of course wants to room with Stef because it means seeing more of Kip. I wonder how long it will take for Tiffany to realize they wanted her in their quad so she can pay for all the “extras”. That could be a real eye opener for her.

Stef, Stef, I’m just not placing her.

She may find you a bit saccharine. Tiff is refreshingly depressing.

I thought they would have their own room and bathroom. Or did I read that wrong?

There’s a line in the “Godfather” movie that says “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.”

I truly don’t understand why Tiff wants to room with the air-headed Stef. Especially if Tiffany plans to go after Stef’s boyfriend, Kip.

For one Stef treated Tiff like a pile of dirty clothes left on the floor. Check out the Feb 03 through Feb 08, 2020 Strips for proof.

And take a good hard look at the Feb 24 through Feb 28 2020 Strips for more proof. Stef treated Tiff like a doormat. In fact the whole Hall A Gang including Hair, gave Tiff the short shrift over that blackout party.

And bigger mystery is why Dez wants to room with Stef. They have ZERO in common, and I hardly think that Party-Girl Stef would be interested in any Neo-Hippie ramblings from Dez.

It just doesn’t make sense.

EXCEPT that We’re all be set up for the arrival of the fourth roommate. Tiffany’s roommate. Who’s all but guaranteed to be the roommate from Hell.

And you can bet the mortgage that when and if that happens? Tiffany will never think to get her own private room again or move back home.

So.

As the Nation lines up and shells out big bucks at the gas pumps, it asks the burning question: “Who will be the fourth roommate?” ;)

Well, evidently Dez knows Stefani as well, since she’s speaking with her about sharing a quad. Wonder if Tiffany will suggest the fourth or if that person will be random. Unless, Tiffany decides to go solo. Thinking this is the start of a long arc! ;-))

Why doesn’t Tiff just Rent out rooms? Not like her dad is using the place.

Hey Tiffany! Don’t let Dez boss you around. You’re the one with the money so you get to have what you want.

I don’t get why Dez is so eager to have Tiffany join their quad. Stef is a party girl who has tons of friends, so they’re not likely to be desperate for a fourth person. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the mystery third roommate is a friend of Stef’s and Dez & Tiffany will be stuck sharing with each other.

Why do they both want to live with Stef? Why not each other? That is probably what Tiffany is pondering.

Come on, Tiffany. Fair is fair.

Why doesn’t Tiffany want to room with Dez? It is a little insulting to Dez that Tiffany would rather room with Stefi.

Why can’t Stef and Kip get an apartment together, did their parents not approve?

Even Tiffany does not want to live with someone like Tiffany. At least she is a little self aware.

Today’s strip takes a weird turn. Prior to this Dez’s manipulative behavior seemed to be benevolent in that it appeared to be aimed at improving Tiff social life. Today it appears as if Dez’s manipulative behavior has been for her own benefit.

But going back to Wednesday’s strip Dez said “Steh and I put in for a quad.” Indicating Stef and Dez have some prior, off-strip, association.

I would be insulted if I were Tiffany. Dez has indicated that she would prefer associating with Stephani Bird and is merely saying Tiff is preferable to some randomly selected student.

Maybe Tiff ought to offer Kip Lee a room to rent in the McMansion?

Ouch.

I know lots of people who would rather room with Tiffany.

The fourth roommate will be MARY WORTH.She figures all these kids need help.

Tiff all the way: dealing with a snob is much easier than a “socially superior” type any day of the week. Significantly less judgement.

I’d pick the manse and open it to 3 or 4 other students for minimal rent and keeping it clean.

You know, I’m torn. A new young woman to fill out the quad could be fun.

But equally fun is if Tara gets enrolled on a probationary status and rooms with Tiff. They share a room— trying to reform scrapper versus the entitled loner.

yes Tiff… ‘someone like you’, very pointed and deliberate words. You may want to have gal pals but what do you bring to the table of friendship? What is it like to have you for a friend? You want to room with Steffi but all you really want is to take her boyfriend for yourself; what kind of friend is that? Yes you invite people to a pool party but at moment’s notice (to solve your feelings of aloneness) expecting everyone to drop what they are doing. You then arrive at the community garden with your lawn chair, sunglasses and tanning lotion while i am working; you want to talk but you don’t want to participate in what i am doing. I offer a solution to your dilemma and you’re just looking to see what’s in it for you.

i’m sure one of you said this but I saw this going in this direction….oooh I have 30 rooms in my house and multiple bathrooms and there’s a kitchen and a pool and a and a and a and abut nope we didn’t go that route so Tiffany’s Moony U Private Mansion Dormitory was not an idea from the authors. oh I know all the massive parts that go into managing a space for living but i’m just saying kind of surprised that wasn’t the direction this went

I think Dez is setting up Tiffany to WANT to room with Stef. Stef probably secretly wants to room with Tiffany so she can lord it over her. She sees Tiffany as beneath her.

Someone like me? Someone like you? Sounds kinda elitist.

Wouldn’t Tiff just take the easy way and rent out both halves of her part of the quad so she’ll have more space? I’m sure daddy dearest would pay the difference.

We had that option when I was in college, if there were enough empty dorm rooms, you could rent a double for extra $$$. Never had a roommate after my first semester – either got a single or a open double. Actually got the same room for both junior and senior years – we had a lottery system for the non-fraternity students and I picked #1 at the end of my junior year and just picked the same room I had, a double on the first floor that shared a bathroom with only 4 other rooms.

I wish the strip had kept the original dynamic of Bernice having Dez as a college roommate. It gave her the experience of living with someone vastly different from her longtime friend(s) from Pitts High and had the opportunity to expose her to a large number of other Moony students. I’m not crazy about Dez’s main association now being connected to Tiffany. As I mentioned before it felt contrived but it also means that Tiffany will take over any strip the two of them are in, in a way that Bernice would not have done.

The only reason Tiffany wants to share a bedroom with Stefani is to have more access to Kip.

Stefani has been nothing but rude to Tiffany, so Tiffany should cringe at the thought of rooming with her. Tiffany’s lust for Kip must be very strong.

Ease off, Tiff! Contrary to what you seem to think, Stef is not Kip, nor is she a Golden Doorway to him. All the suite,ates will be close enough for interaction anyway….
