“Memories Light the corners of my mind Misty watercolor memories Of the way we were Scattered pictures Of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again Tell me, would we? Could we? Memories May be beautiful and yet What’s too painful to remember We simply to choose to forget So it’s the laughter We will remember Whenever we remember The way we were”
Brad’s thinking… ‘I can’t believe how annoying all 3 of you are! Toni.. save me!’ ;)
So tomorrow.. dilapidated cabin time? Or does Brad, accidentally, drive someone down and this becomes an I Know What You Did Last Summer type deal?? LOL
The Mrs. an I were in Wisconsin a few years ago at Christmas an the car next to us at a red light had the side an back windows fogged up on th inside. Little did the parents know but their kids in th back seat were drawing big swastikas in the fog on th windows.
Prolly thinkin it was so nice their angels in the back were bein so quiet
I’m having flashbacks of long car trips when I was young. My older brother would sing and scratch his teath to annoy me. Oh, and there there was the “I’m not touching you” nonsense. Drove me nuts, and my whining about it drove my dad nuts. He stopped on the side of the road and threatened to make us get out more than once, and I even remember him trying to reach into the back seat to whack anyone he could reach. Yeah, life before cheap personal electronics definitely wasn’t dull.
Hmmmm, I’m starting to wonder if we’re ever gonna see the camping trip itself. Normally it’d be a no-brainer, but after Tiffany’s Epic Pool Party and Luann Goes Skydiving both ended in disappointment, I’m not so sure.
Luann doesn’t realize how ridiculous she sounded back then, but I don’t think Brad’s going to try to explain that her request for him to stop breathing was pretty morbid. (The rest of it is probably true). He looked slimy bad back in those days, I wouldn’t have wanted to sit in the back seat next to him either. Look at him now – he morphed into a handsome firefighter with a beautiful wife! Brad seems to be the character in this comic that has progressed the most over the past few years.
This reminds me of how my one son desperately went to great length to get his drivers license when he was a high school senior yet he never wanted to help me drive him to his university, a five hour trip! People at work asked me “Did you enjoy your day off?” . I told them that I spent 10 hours of driving plus helping him unload and it was nice to come back to work to relax! If you’ve driven down a stretch of I-81 with all the big rigs jockeying for first place like slow moving “race cars” going up hills, it’s a highway that requires your complete attention all the time. I called it “White Knuckles Highway”.
Gee, Am I the only one that thinks that Brad has really GLOWED UP since he has gotten older and married? Such a cutie!! (Great Artwork) LuaanAgain Brad was such a dweeb… ;o)
I bought a used 1976 Park Avenue when my children were little. The first time I heard ‘Mom, he’s touching me’, I shot back …“you’ve got 40 acres in that back seat….I don’t want to hear that anybody’s touching anyone”. They sure quieted down. LOL

That’s it! I’m turning this car around now. Nancy might think she is being funny, but what if this causes an actual fight.

I’ve reduced my comics reading to one: Luann. This strip is why it remains one.

If you take a roadtrip and not once do you hear, “Make him stop looking out my window!” Are you really even a family?

You were the one yelling, Luann. Guess who was actually annoying?

It sounds like Brad was pretty annoying on road trips in those days. He sure mellowed out as he got older.

The childhood Luann and Brad were remarkably like Katy and Clayton on the “Adam@Home” strip.
Will they outgrow it as the DeGroot offspring did?

Look, Luann, it’s better than it going completely silent in the back except for heavy breathing.

So if Frank and Nancy had to make a “Sophie’s Choice”, which kid would they elect to never see again?
Mordock999 Premium Member 12 months ago
Well Now.
I think We now know what Frank does for a living.
He sells Progressive Insurance.
But instead of turning into their parents, like that ANNOYING commercial says, Frank and Nancy turned into their Kids.
Sheesh.
Oh and Frank?
When you get back to work, FIRE Flo and her even MORE Annoying Janice. :-)

Guys this is a preview for when your parents are older and stop driving, then you have to shuttle them everywhere.
