My dad bought one a number of years ago at a flea market even though we rarely get a lot of snow. It’s never been used.

I think it was worth every penny to keep it from snowing. I had a small Toro 18" electric for decades that did fine till I got the 3’ snowfall. Bought a 24" Ariens gas powered one and have only used it a few times over the last 10 years for some snows over 12". I don’t regret the purchase.

Remember adds like “No Snow by January 31st? Get your money back!!”

If we are not going to do anything to stop climate change, then we should start planning for it. I’m thinking of opening a banana plantation in Minnesota.

Not really a good bet, considering where one might live. But it’s the only if/then that might work.

Example: if I buy a leaf blower/vac, the dozen oaks in our yard won’t drop their leaves? What about a self-propelled mower? Grass won’t grow? Wash the car = no rain?

Is that phenomenon related to the sure fire way to find something you’ve lost? You’ve looked everywhere for days, so you give up and buy a replacement, then the lost item suddenly appears.

The more snow we get here in the mountains in winter, the less the chance of forest fires in the spring. We’re off to a good start, 15 inches over the past few days.

didn’t work for me… when I got mine a few years back, I can’t even guess how many days I used it. But I guess that’s okay… money well spent!

Two years ago, I had to replace the spark plug on my snow blower because it wouldn’t start before a snow forecast. We never got any snow fall large enough to use it that year.

Is it like washing your car guarantees that it will rain?

I like to believe I’m not superstitious, yet I’ve never put the shovels and the buckets of ice-melter back in the shed until at least mid-April. The last time I bought a brand new car was in the Spring of 1994. There hadn’t been a single snowflake in weeks, and no snow in the forecast. I felt safe taking delivery on March 10th. There was a near-blizzard the next day.

Before I ever got one, I threw my back out about 4 times, shoveling, so, I would rather have it, and not need it, than need it, and not have it.

In the fall if 2022, I bought a 4-wheel drive truck to more easily get through snow and ice. Not a flake has fallen since.

if that worked, I’d buy a new one every year! Lol!
