Wiley had the right idea a long time ago. As they’re trying to renew hunting protected bears under our fear-filled leader, it’s definitely time to arm Bruin.
All bears are armed. Humans are less well adapted, but they have inventiveness and intelligence that allows them to create and manufacture implements that may be used for defense. This is why the movement to disarm them begins with the schools and the removal of their natural intelligence and defense capability.
The one thing I remember learning in the Political Science course I took in college is the definition of a sovereign nation, “A nation that is able to defend itself from all enemies both external and internal”. As our forefathers thought, those internal enemies may include the government. Therefore the people must be able to defend themselves from the government just as our founders defended themselves from the King. The South tried to become a sovereign nation but was unable to defend itself. The bears have the right to try and become a sovereign nation which means they have the right to arm bears.
Bears’ rules for the hunting of humans: no shouting “free drinks” at sporting events as baiting is not allowed, no limits on attornies and pols except for the honest and compassionate ones (protected under the Endangered Species Act), etc.
Anybody that thinks a few guys with guns is going to stand up to or defeat the U S government is insane…..How are you going to fight a cruise missile?…F-16?…..Drones? Atom Bombs?,….,Good luck with that!
Almost every day during the hunting season you see at least one item in the newspapers about somebody who has shot somebody else, under the impression that he was a deer with a red hat perhaps, maybe a large flesh-colored squirrel. At any rate, it seems to me that this marks an encouraging new trend in the field of blood sports, and deserves a new type of hunting song which I present herewith
SUNG:
I always will remember
’Twas a year ago November
I went out to hunt some deer
On a mornin’ bright and clear
I went and shot the maximum the game laws would allow
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow
.
I was in no mood to trifle
I took down my trusty rifle
And went out to stalk my prey
What a haul I made that day
I tied them to my fender, and I drove them home somehow
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow
.
The law was very firm, it
Took away my permit
The worst punishment I ever endured
It turned out there was a reason
Cows were out of season
And one of the hunters wasn’t insured
.
People ask me how I do it
And I say, "There’s nothin’ to it
You just stand there lookin’ cute
And when something moves, you shoot!"
And there’s ten stuffed heads in my trophy room right now
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a pure-bred Guernsey cow
The look on the face of the bear in panel 4 – I’ve seen it somewhere else before – it’s the look a redneck gets when face to face with a brand new truck – the look of a shooting enthusiast when beholding a lovely new AR-15 “sporting rifle”.

Older than dirt – the right to arm bears, but about as good an interpretation of it that I’ve seen!

They’re going to do a much better job of culling the herd… especially if they decide to collect trophies… leaving the remains for the scavengers.
Then they’ll take up big game hunting… bikers, cars, trucks, especially logging trucks…

Betsy DeVos did say that schools need to be armed to protect the students from grizzlies.

The bears should be wearing orange vests to make it more interesting for hunters.

I feel a lot safer with Wiley Armed Bears than Hoosier’s bearing arms.

Wiley’s drawings are always great, but the bears in Panel #2 are fantastic !
I laughed before I even got to the following panels.
Thanks Wiley, for a terrific Sunday comic !

Far different to shoot at something that can shoot back. Even up the playing field. I suspect we’d have far less hunters.

How far past the shoulders does the Right to Bare Arms go?
I know a couple women who’d be happy to extend it all the way to the Belly Button.
