I have a better solution… STAY HOME!!! Lived in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida for 35 years, went to the beach maybe 5 times…

This happened to us in Rockport, MA last weekend and we were just trying to visit the town.

I can think of situations where I’d love to be able to transform myself like this. e.g. Long supermarket lines at the cashiers.

I would be willing to bet that the reason they are late to the beach has something to do with Danae.

There’s no way a car evacuation will be at all quick. Should have thought ahead and started a Twitter rumor that there was a sewage leak at the beach.

This cartoon brought back sooo many childhood memories of Sunday’s, sitting in our inferno of a car, in bumper to bumper traffic, crawling down the interminable two-lane “highway” in Connecticut, to go the Watch Hill, RI – spending an all-too-brief couple of hours on the beach and then repeating the process to get home.

My Dad was a saint to be able to put up with the heat, the traffic, two whiny kids, my Mother’s incessant “backseat driving”, just to give us a little Sunday treat.

That’s what is nice about having a private beach.

Or you can do like we do here in San Diego, wait until after Labor Day to go to your favorite beach. Tourists are gone, its still warm, you can get a table at a good restaurant, life is good after Labor Day.

Tahoe can be like that. You have to learn the secrets.

Shoulda gone to Gooseneck Beach in Kennebunkport.

I don’t like the beach and would not go unless it is dark.

That kind of describes Hampton Beach, NH too. It was better when I was little …
