Management Teams. Sounds like a euphemism for crisis interventionists. I once worked for a corporation that was all about “Quality Process Management”. What a bunch of baloney. A bunch of guys and gals in polo shirts & khakis spouting off about how their system makes companies better. So we went to these mandatory QPM Meetings that would’ve been fine if it was scheduled around our production runs. It didn’t. Guess what happened? I don’t know. I quit before the dam broke.
I am assuming Rick’s dad own a lot of stock and gave up on junior when military school failed. “Sigh, I’ll try putting him on the board. Maybe that’ll help.”
I know this strip is called Non Sequitur because it’s very often quite different from one day to the next, but it never ceases to amaze me what incredible variety Wiley Miller finds in his subject matter. And he cranks out not only an original idea (sure to make you smile) but the artwork to go with it each and every day. He’ll go down in history as the creative love child of Walt Kelly and Bill Watterson.
Had a manager or two like that, but they wanted to tear into YOU not the documents. They were tough times. The people at the table seem to be taking his antics with a certain amount of equanimity.
