If there is an afterlife in the conventional spiritual sense, I suspect Rat will be taking the elevator down to the basement and he will not be met by St Peter! Time to start shoveling coal 24-7 to feed that furnace which keeps he!! uncomfortably hot Rat!
The closer we get to the final curtain call, and leave this stage for good, the more we seem to think about an afterlife. It’s a concept that I neither accept nor reject. I’ll find out in the end.
Personally, my life has had its share of surprises. Death holds the final surprise … but one that I’m in no big hurry to receive!
The funny thing is, is that there is only one true answer that anyone living on earth can honestly give to what happens after death, and it is….drum roll………I don’t know.
Pun Alert! Important notice. One of the most beautiful puns made an appearance today in Calvin and Hobbes. If you haven’t seen it I recommend you take a peek. (And nobody noticed!)
Betting there is no afterlife is like betting the hurricane will miss you. If you prepare for it and it doesn’t hit you, you have lost nothing, but if you don’t prepare and it hits you, you may loose everything.

Too bad the universe doesn’t write IOUs, so we’d have something to take to court.

Why atheists don’t like the idea of no afterlife? The atheist cannot tell you “I told you so” :)

That’s why I could never believe in reincarnation, Rat. If they think I’m coming back here, they’re crazy!

No, Rat, you won’t. You’ll be dead. So you’ll be nothing at all.

So many people spend their lives preparing for the “after life.”

The “something better after this life” is that there WON’T be a Rat in it!

I have a feeling that in the afterlife, Rat will be wishing for this life back compared to… the alternative.

I always figured I’d get reincarnated as a light skinned Latino boy with a mop top.

If Rat can’t handle this life, it’s a good thing he wasn’t born in any previous era, anywhere, to any station.

Dr. Gregory House: I find it more comforting to believe that this isn’t simply a test.

Rat and spirituality do not have a close relationship. In fact, I’m not sure they’re even acquainted!
