It’s not wrong to begin with an example.

Please don’t confuse closed-mindedness with, open-minded but haven’t been convinced that my current belief isn’t the correct one.

According to the New York State database of Teacher pensions in New York (available only with a Gannett subscription) the majority of teachers retire either at 30 years or age 55, whichever comes first. Frankly, I can’t blame them.

I had an email discussion with a man about a year ago. Throughout the whole discussion, which lasted about a month, he showed himself to be amazingly closed-minded, but he always maintained that he was open-minded.

Don’t be so open minded that your brain falls out.

Really? I would think he’d appreciate the comic relief. Also, flunking people (and animals) who don’t belong there.

That teacher reminds me of the time I was in grammar school & I whined to a teacher, “I gotta stay in school until I’m 18!” She replied, “And I have to stay here until I’m 65!”

I think most teachers would get a laugh out of an answer like that. What really makes teaching a grind is wading through a pile of papers that have nothing meaningful to say about the question but aren’t funny either.

Why is Pig in school? I know it’s come up a handful of times over the years, but it’s so inconsistent that I can’t imagine he’s making any real progress.

I remember the senior level history class I took in college, where the task was to write a simulated journal article using primary sources. The instructor emphasized that grammar, syntax, and spelling would count in the grade.

Politicians are too clothes-minded because naked candidates don’t get to campaign or get elected.
