Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Is it like the saying? “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your Shoe"? So would “something blue” be a frostbitten appendage? ;P
Georgia left a long message about the future of Swan Eaters on her BCN Patreon site last night. Let’s all be sure to like and comment as much as possible. Ahem, “We love Swan Eaters” oh GC moderators. We might be relatively few but we are a fanatic fan base!
We have waited a long time for it’s return. Hopefully our patience is rewarded by the powers that be here at gocomics letting this comic have its domain here. We have no doubt Georgia’s writing & drawing is the main reward we sought, though.
This reminds me of the time I was joyously using the new microplane I had purchased… the kids had to finish making dinner as I had accidentally shredded my thumb! New kitchen gadgets are sharp!
Dewsolo make an excellent point on January 23rd… if BCN has The Orb… what are we calling ourselves here in the Swan Eater family? Any thoughts or suggestions?
I’ve got to go back and read from the beginning. I did that before and the story made sense and I like it, but I’m afraid i’ve forgotten the background and am a little lost. So, Yeah! I get to reread the comic! Thanks for getting this going again Georgia! I love Swan Eaters and BCN. (Have to admit, BCN is my favorite all time comic!)
Here are some fun stats… I just checked and SE has more subscribers now than BCN did when it was starting out, and before she got the newspapers.
While it has taken a long time for the story to unfold, given the breaks, it is only about two? years old in “comic time” and it already has over 1,000 followers. This is well more than some of the other, non-syndicated strips. So we do have some heft here!
Also, this stat should probably be over on BCN, but we have so many BCN readers here, they might appreciate it. BCN now has more subscribers than Phoebe! Phoebe was already syndicated when Georgia got called up to the big show, and Georgia always speaks fondly of the help and advice Simpson gave her when she started out on this adventure. For years BCN was always running just behind Phoebe with subscribers. It’s certainly been an amazing journey.
I certainly hope Wigglesworth is saved but I have begun to wonder how his story will continue. Will he have to pretend to be a leper again so he can continue to live in this world? Or will he have to eventually return to his own world when his evil brothers are defeated? Will he become the ruler of that world? Would Vesper be able to live there too? So many questions!
I’m wondering just what Baba Yaga would consider “behaving”?
There are several possible quid pro quo, or transactional possibilities, depending on what Baba needs, wants, or desires. And, of course, to make sure Wigglesworth never harms any of her kin (including Vesper, who Olwen considers her granddaughter, though she’s not of her blood). No breaking Vesper’s heart!
The artwork is fascinating. Georgia hasn’t removed the pencil roughs (I think they are called), which adds depth to the drawing. Clover has her red eyes, too.
Ohhhhh my goodness, peeking in today and seeing so many comments!! Ahhhh, thank you! When I mentioned Swan Eaters’ possible fate over on Patreon, I was a little hesitant to spell it out so honestly (numbers! Clicks! It feels so YouTube-y, lol!) but it really can make a difference and seeing so many readers jump in on the very next post makes me so happy. Thank you for enjoying Swan Eaters the way you do! It’s really fun writing it for all of you!

Forget giving somebody the shirt off your back. Baba will give the skin off her forearm! That’s gotta hurt.

I am intrigued yet grossed out. It’s all good, as long as Wigglesworth is saved.

I can just see him telling his kids, “and this scaly patch is from your great grandma Baba Yaga”

Hmmm, if Baba Yaga is “borrowing” skin from her elbow, is she going to return it? Umm. Do I even want to know.

Baba Yaga makes a small sacrifice for the grater good.

That is certainly an incentive to behave!

Baba Yaga is one weird person. At least in this universe she has some compassion. The Russian folk tales are not as complementary to her.

I usually use a pumice stone for the removing old skin thing. It doesn’t live in the kitchen where it could be used for food as well.
