Family?? It was Zoeâs bet and herâs alone. Since she canât pay up, Hammie can go for the kill shot here of: no ridicule, bad mouthing, make-me-look-stupid, teasing, etc. for the next ten years.
When I was a kid, in a situation like this, when the winner would say âPay up!â, we would say âOK, hold out your hand.â When they did so, we would act as though we were sprinkling âA dash of thatâ into a recipe. Sort of like that thing youâd do with your thumb and forefinger and saying âThis is the worldâs smallest record player, and itâs playing âMy Heart Bleeds For YouââŠâ âș
Letâs put that into perspective. If you borrowed a million dollars and repaid it at the rate of one dollar per second, it would take 11 days to pay it off.
If you borrowed a billion dollars and repaid it at one dollar per second, it would take 32 years.
A trillion dollars? 32,000 years.
I have no idea how large a gabillion would be, let alone a million-trillion-gabillion.
Yes, I say Zoe has put the family in a difficult financial position.

Heâs not getting anything. We know a million-trillion-guabillion dollars is all play money.

The million-trillion I can understand, but that guabillion may require a second mortgage.

Zoe, tell Hammie that the bet was in Indian Rialâs, then you will only owe him about $3.18.

No you didnât. Thatâs not a real number, as Hammie would have known if he paid more attention in math class.

Not the family, Zoe. This debtâs on you.
sclutter42 almost 2 years ago
The good news is that Hammie owes Zoe a similar amount of money over a bet on Zoeâs report card, so their debts should cancel out.

I hope you know every cent of that is coming out of your college fund!
