What a trooper that Elvis is … severely wounded in pursuit of a story he bravely carries on in his journalistic duties – how does he manage. There must be some sort of award for such self sacrifice ;-)
Elvis, gallantly and heroically enduring the suffering of his injury, will be fine. But unless the mice make the right move now, both Agnes and Buzzy Mouse will be doomed.
When the camera is off, Elvis will be marching around in his usual gait. Eventually he will not bother to put on the fake limp, as BCN moves on to the next story.
That’s quite an impressive bandage for such a tiny injury! (I know I made a similar comment when this first appeared, but it seems to have gotten lost. If anybody finds it, please let me know where it landed.)
Good morning and happy Monday/Funday, orbsters and orbabies! Elvis, you are SUCH a drama queen! It’s a wonder that you haven’t set yourself up with a pair of crutches to hobble around on.
Elvis should talk to Pucky about the hardship of only 3-working paws. In addition, Elvis is hoping the people from the Academy Awards are watching this performance.
My cats have always milked the hurt paw for everything they could. Even after it was all better the first indication that Mom was irritated and, suddenly, the paw was sore again.
When I see poor Agnes, all I can think of is poor Mrs. Frisby, caught in the Fitzgibbons’ kitchen and stuck in an old birdcage. Will Agnes have her Justin to come and rescue her so she can save Timmy from the plow? Will the Robber Mice escape the evil clutches of scientists and make it to their refuge in Thorn Valley?
Also, everyone must read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. Yes, the cat is a villain, but I can understand a mouse’s perspective on things. The film is NOT a substitute for the book. Visually it’s a work of art, but it adds a silly supernatural element and and changes a character to add some unnecessary melodrama and a sword fight.
Just wanted to let everyone know that my husband came home just over a week ago. We’re working on getting him a support system in place, but he’s having more good days than bad days so far, and I’m just grateful for every day we get. Mental illness is a real beast, and it’s hard since he doesn’t want to be on meds. But the anti-psychotics (once a month injectable) are helping, even though he doesn’t see that. I know we’ll have plenty of tough times ahead (NOTHING like what Elvis has had to endure, of course!) but we’ll keep taking it one day at a time.
Thank you all for your kindness and support.
We did have a scare yesterday when we couldn’t find our cat Barnaby (the unhappy Ewok in my avatar) at dinner time. Somehow he’d managed to slip outside – we have no idea how as we’re both very careful going in and out since all of our cats are indoor only. But my husband found Barnaby among tools and workbenches that are under a tarp (since we just moved) and was able to retrieve him. Poor Barnaby – I hugged him so hard that all he could manage was a sad little “squee” sound, but we got him inside and warmed up and made sure he wasn’t hurt, and everyone got dinner, so it had a happy ending, but we’ll be triple checking the doors from now on!
If the Orb doesn’t mind, I’d like to take an informal survey. Do any of you who are currently, or have been recently seeking employment, feel as if you have been discriminated against due to your age? This is not for anything nefarious, just asking for my own information because I am most certainly feeling it (and not because I am underage). Thank you!
My home care worker picked up my mail for me this afternoon (I hadn’t been able to get out to my mail box in a week). I just got around to opening the last of it and found two cards. One birthday card from a friend in Arizona (that I had been told was on the way), and a Christmas card from Hedgehog.
Thanks so much. It is the first Christmas card I have gotten this year. The picture is adorable!

I’m not really a Robber Mice fan but poor Agnes looks so pitiful. I hope the Boys don’t have her tied up – the way Alice has hogtied poor Buzzy.

I’ll take you at your word, Elvis, and not worry about you. Instead, I’ll wonder how Alice will muck up the ho-ho-hostage exchange.
