Ora Z with the big softie move. Just melts me the way her and her Pucky get along. Even if Elvis supervises the snacks, cuteness will reign in the end!
Dear Georgia: Thank you so much for continuing this arc while you are disabled. Please know that we all appreciate you very much and are rooting for your continued healing.
Tabitha, I love ya.. but you have a perfect relationship with your brother. You clearly do not know what it’s like to have to have to juggle an apartment with nature’s perfect drama queen, nature’s perfect dumpster fire, a kitten who would start actual fires if she had thumbs, and … three fairly nice kitties who are in the middle of all of that. What i’m saying is maybe don’t throw stones from a glass apartment.
Sounds about right! Now, to get back to the business of serious feline journalism, would someone put those kittens in a sunspot so the crack news team can get on with investigative reporting.
Tabith-Isis: Tabith-Isis here reporting on the recent discovery of scrolls believed to have been from the famed Lost Library of Meowlexandria. I have Elvis-Anum here to tell about this momentous discovery. Elvis?
Elvis-Anum: Thank you, Tabs. I have here in my possession a number of scrolls written in ancient scripts that I am in the process of deciphering. For example, here is one written in Tengwar script. I’m sure you remember the recent visit from our (now) elven friends.
Tabs: How fascinating. Have you had any difficulties while reading through the scrolls?
Elvis: Well, I did have to persuade Ora Zed not to shred or eat the scrolls. Thankfully Sophititi needed someone to wedge clay for her.
Tabs: And I understand you came upon some forbidden knowledge. Would you care to elaborate?
Elvis: Yes. I have a number of cook scrolls that I’m translating. There is one that is about (I can’t say it).
Tabs: You mean things like parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme?
Elvis: Exactly.
Tabs: Thank you, Elvis. I believe Thomios has tea and scones ready in the Royal Lunch Room. Up next, the wisdom of the luthiers.
Tabitha brings the hurtful truths. They wouldn’t be very entertaining if they got along all the time, but our dear cat reporters certainly are not the best coworkers. The fact that there are only two words on page four leads me to believe Beatrix was expecting a lot of discussion, only for everyone to agree immediately.
Tabitha’s remark made me think about my mom. She worked in a leadership role from the 1960s – the 1990s. I will never forget what she always said about a woman being in business or working among men; the woman always has to bring her ‘A’ game compared to the men she worked next to. She would say, “If a woman expects more from her people, then they say she’s being (the-B-word). If a man expects more, he’s a leader.”
People’s attitudes have certainly improved towards women in the workplace, but I still occasionally see Neanderthal opinions by men concerning women in business.
Being one of two sons raised by an alpha female has given me a different lens regarding women in the workplace. It also has influenced my writing; Protectors are always female, and a Queen always leads the clowder.
I now relinquish my soap box for the next philosopher.
Beatrix is not the kitten she once was. Now she is allowed at the big cat table and the other kittens are sat-on by Baba Mouse. The worst part is Beatrix is more well behaved than the rest.
Huh, I just realized that Beatrix must be older than Ora Zella and Iggy. For some reason I thought the three of them rather close in age as they’re all kittens but… Anyway, seeing Beatrix’s notes with the little doodles this past week has been quite delightful. Seeing all the reporters’ interactions in writing is quite interesting and funny. Brilliant as always
Note that the motion was only to ask Baba to kittensit. She is perfectly willing and able to say “Heck, No!” and they’ll have to think of something else.

“Only snacks, no drama.”
Yeah.
Good luck with that.

Ora and Puck are such a sweet combination! Iron is drawn to a magnet, not more iron. That’s why they pair up so well.

I bet there will be great snacks for the next meeting. Goldie and Lupin will try to out do each other, like during the trash clean up competition.

I note Tommy was unusually quiet during the whole meeting! I wonder what happened to keep his normal exuberance down.

And when I did uncover today’s final panel and read it – I totally cracked up! ❤️ x 47 likes for this one!
