I’m here on time tonight! Not, of course, for yet another installment of the Pawmark Channel’s movie adaption of Our IX Lives, of which I certainly know nothing. No, I merely want to make sure that the Grumbling Room is open and well stocked with all kinds of goodies, especially tender-stomach friendly foods for our favorite bear.
(Of course Bandit was there, Paisley! There’s no way that he would pass up an opportunity to accidentally run into you! Honestly girl, haven’t you read the plot outline?)
This strip has everything! Lil Starfish Squeaker, a Robber Mouse, fangs of excitement on both Sophie and Gutter (!!!!), and toebeans on Our IX Lives! Squeee and swoon galore!!
Wait. I thought Paisley was Angora’s sister, but I’m obviously wrong because Georgia would not have made that mistake. (Angora saying my father instead of our father).
Ah yes, “the lingering secret gazes”, to be reacted to by the ever so startling slap to the face followed by the harsh declaration that “My Eyes Are Up Here.” From this oh so familiar and awkward beginning, a relationship slowly blooms, as outwardly she demonstrates disdain for his gaze, while in reality she baths in the knowledge that he finds her attractive.
She wonders, is this the one for me, can I tame this Tom Cat from his wandering ways? Her insecurities play upon her mind wondering, hoping, praying that he feels what she feels inside, yet dare not expose to the world. Her heart races as dreams of being held close in his paws, a gentle purring in her ear, the sharing catnip and kibbles by candle light. All to quickly, the sudden intrusion of the tragic and disturbing situation at hand, the very fate that has brought the together threatens to just a quickly keep them apart. The uncertainty of it all, being almost too much to bear, the show goes to commercial………………………………
The story is grinding on. I understand, soap operas have to have looong arcs. When I was little a lot of radio soaps were 15 minutes long. A single story could take forever.
I found a video that reminds me of yesterday’s rerun: youtube.Com/watch?v=WsMJX_EGlhU The title is “I’m Climbing Up The Christmas Tree NEOW!” Lyric Video!
Gutter’s look of longing breaks my heart! Sophie has a little bit of shallowness—hence the faux love with the ferret and seeing love as a kind of game.

“Lingering, secretive gazes?” have a look at the window over your shoulder. (Discretely, of course.)

Georgia is catering to us toebean addicts again. Tiny squee for tiny toebeans in the last panel.

I love the ironing board cover. I just bought a similar one, only rosy instead of greenish.

Paisley has her priorities. She needs to visit the Christmas tree yard to see Bandit before Snowball (boo! hiss!) paves it over!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Wicket: I can have a whole crew of owls fly spaces (Cockney accent again) to Thomios and Floofnet.
Amon-Merchant: We are extremely grateful. But there will be other items that must be shipped.
Beaver Lee Cleary: Don’t forget. Librarians are by definition procurers. And we’re not without resources.
Beatixia: Maybe an underground resistance movement, Bev.
Bev: It just so happens Digby Mole and his Lawn Potato team are here to play an exhibition series.
Bea: As long as it is alright with the moles.
Enter King Montgomery Mole and Queen Lisa
King Monty: Count on it. And I’m sure we’ll be in time for a performance of It’s a Wonderful Nine Lives.
Iggy: As well as a tumbling demonstration by Lupinium and the Indestructible Shelves.

Paisley and Bandit are so meant for each other. Love the mirroring. Not sure what Sophie is talking about here, the love seems pretty darn requited.
