Snow (sic) much effort for no reward, not even a “thanks son”.

If that’s a luge run, you need to make it a little wider.

If calvin can get in the snow, and shovel it, then I think dad can walk to the car.

Calvin has a future in suburban street planning…

If they’re going to ask him to do a chore, then they have to accept his methods. :D

Personally, I would have made a path to the car and got back in front of the fire with Hobbes….

Calvin is imagining he’s one of the “Family Circus” kids.

Sigh, just go along with it Dad, save your breath. You give him a chore, you know he’s gonna do it in his most creative (see; irritating) way; so, just suck it up.

I remember doing “seat work” in kindergarten, work sheets that taught us a straight line is the shortest distance from A to B. At the time I wondered why. Now I know.

For a six year old kid, that’s a pretty impressive amount of work. Of course, irritating his dad is a powerful motivator.

Next time, be specific in your instructions, Dad!

In messing with Dad, Calvin must have expended a tremendous amount of effort. Dad should appreciate it. It builds character.

I’m surprised that Calvin had that much ambition.

I do something similar except in the back yard so my wife can get to the bird feeders near the hedges. I also clear a big area so she can put nuts down for the squirrels.

My dad would have said, “You could have shoveled the driveway twice with that amount of effort!” Sometimes I’m amazed I made it out of childhood.

One of my teachers said she assigned her six-year-old to shovel the walk, and he dumped the snow directly behind himself, defeating the purpose. He didn’t mean to.

I’m sorry, any kid that will make it that far shoveling the snow ought to be commended. That would be some VERY hard work.
