His mother should give him a bar of soap and make him take an outdoor shower.

I always wondered why swimming in a lake was fine but playing in the rain wasn’t. That’s where the lake water came from.

In elementary school, a teacher said that the rain in Hawaii was just like taking a shower outside. I didn’t know what she meant until I went there, and it was just like taking a shower with your clothes on.

I can’t count the times in the summer when I was doing what ‘Calvin’ was doing and it started to rain—didn’t hear a thing from Mom until it started ‘boomin’ and crashing’ ‘THEN is when she ’got after me to come in outta the rain’ ! ! ! !

I’m reminded that at the other end of the spectrum, it can take a box of matches to light a camp but only one match to start a forest fire.

Rain often comes with lightening. I don’t mind getting wet. I do mind getting dead, or worse.

Reminds me of when I worked on a tobacco farm as a teenager. We had to work picking tobacco leaves even when the irrigation sprays were on and/or if it were raining. The irrigation system was portable and was moved on a schedule that made no allowance for the workers or the weather. Ah, nothing like picking tobacco at 95 degrees in the rain – to make you long for an indoor job.

often wonder why, being 60% water and we take showers and dive into pools…..we run out of rain. Irony in human nature?

Makes me thing of when I worked at a resort condo building back in the 80’s. We had this pool that was both indoor and outdoor. You would just swim under this flexible partition that hung down to the waterline. One day, it started raining pretty good and there were some kids playing in the outside portion. I stepped out there and told them that they better get to the inside part before they got all wet. It wasn’t till they swam back to the inside part that it clicked. Managed to pull that joke off more than once. XD

I always wondered that – "we can’t go swimming today, it’s raining out." (obviously thunderstorms and such are a different story.)

I remember a time my sister and I went swimming, after we had been swimming for an hour or so, it started to rain. We called our Mom to come pick us up. We were about a 1/4 mile from our house. Our Mom didn’t understand why we couldn’t just walk home, after all we had walked to the swimming pool. Parents!? It was probably around 1958 or so.

It’s too funny, I know it’s already Tuesday but yesterday I took my girl to the pool and it started to rain. Since there was no lightning, we and some other kids stayed, and they had a heck of a time. Just funny because this comic deals with kinda the same situation…

I used to work at a pool, and I always laughed at how quickly it emptied when it started to rain. You weren’t gonna get any wetter, folks!
