The tigress babes are the ones that don’t wear bras in the magazine, silly Calvin! Does anyone remember Tigress perfume? My sister in law wore it and it stank like hell!
I don’t think modern men would consider some women from the stone age to be babes, I would never consider a woman or man from the stone age to be a good looking.
What if they landed in a swamp or ocean ? The time machine would be destroyed. They would be stuck there. Hey, maybe Hobbes will see a Saber toothed Smilodon cousin.
Earlier this week, a Nancy Classics strip involving hiccups caused me to recall an episode of Total Dramarama based around Bridgette having the hiccups. I mentioned that it was the first of only three episodes over three seasons in which Bridgette had a starring role. One of my fellow Calvin and Hobbes devotees told me he/she had never heard of Total Dramarama and asked me about it.
For those who don’t know, Total Dramarama is an animated cartoon series which is popular with children and adults. I watch it most evenings, here in the UK, from 6.00 to 7.00 pm and from 11.00 pm to Midnight. That shows that it is popular with adults as well as with children.
THE CONNECTION WITH TODAY’S CALVIN AND HOBBES STRIP is that one of yesterday’s episodes of Total Dramarama had characters travelling back through time. It was called “Snack To The Future”. Bridgette was not one of those characters but they did meet some lookalike ancestors of characters who had stayed behind including one of Bridgette.
One of the characters who did travel through time was Izzy. She is a lot like a female Calvin. She is hyperactive and full of crazy ideas. She is also very loving and protective towards animals. In one episode, she flooded her classroom and filled it with sharks after learning that sharks are an endangered species.
Another character who reminds me of Calvin is Duncan who is even more mischievous and rebellious than Calvin. There similar names make me suspect he is inspired by Calvin. In one episode, he accidentally created living copies of himself when trying to photocopy his buttocks. That episode was called “For A Few Duncans More”
Now I have to wonder. Is Hobbes the same relative age as Calvin, the tiger equivalent of a six-year-old? Or is he old enough to, you know, really appreciate those tigress?
I believe you have to consider Hobbes ages in “Tiger years” and may have this particular interest develop substantially sooner than it does in Calvin’s human years. :0)
Did no one get the significance of Calvin’s remark in the last panel, as regards to today’s woke gender (non)thinking? Or am I just reading more into it than was intended?

If that doesn’t happen, they can time travel to the Ice Age so Hobbes can meet sabertooth tigers.

You don’t have to know, Calvin. Tigers have to know.

Good thing they brought an ordinary camera. I don’t think there’s any WiFi in the Jurassic Period.

No one knows the difference any more – and if you pretend to, you should be cancelled.

Everybody knows that the tigresses, like all female animals drawn or animated, will have eyelashes. And then there’s Nermal.

It’s easy, Calvin. Just look for lipstick on their lips. Most never make it back, though.

Calvin, you can only tell which are the tigresses by looking at their butt, and they don’t like it when humans do that- especially not BOY humans.

Sure, Hobbes. If you want to meet heavily hair-brushed tigress models. :)

That’s quite a mouthful of nice square incisors and molars on our boy Hobbes there, with nary a bicuspid in sight, let alone a fang.

He can, Calvin. Let’s just leave it at that.
