Funny thing is the “TV” he has there is more like the flat screens of today and not the blockish cathode ray tube devices 30-40 years ago when this was originally published!
Back in the 50’s when our TV needed to be fixed the service man would pull out the chassis and take it to the shp to repair, and I would crawlin the cabinet and pretend to be Howdy Doody
A local radio station, in a self-promoting advertisment, made the claim that unlike other forms of advertising, radio required the listener to sit and listen to it, as a captive audience, no skipping through.Problem with that idea is, I frequently turn it off as I get fed up with it.
Exactly how does TV “force” itself upon us? I have never yet seen or heard of a TV that doesn’t have have a power switch. Nor have I ever heard of an armed intruder barging into a home and forcing the occupants to watch TV.
