Looks like Tracy has consigned them to a demise in icy waters…..but could they escape?

Sam needs to go call the rescue squad and Dick needs to keep an eye on the car.

One other thing….that black eye gives Sprocket an out for everything but conspiracy charges with the fraud I’m thinking. All she has to do is claim Silver abused her and forced her into helping and she’ll only face a short term in prison.

Are you sure they’re goners? With that tricked-out car, they may have something else to turn to (not that Sprocket would want to share with Silver).-——I almost (yeah, almost) feel sorry for Sprocket. She was a con artist, willing to go along with the scams, but Silver was just a loser, with sudden violent outbursts – killing Mycroft and smacking her – and expensive tastes – buying and “restoring” that car, his Hollywood wardrobe, and the expense of using that theatre.She didn’t realize until way too late what a loser he was.And I’ve a feeling it’s that way in real life for a lot of criminals.

I think they will probably die if they haven’t already. Like I was saying a couple of days ago, there’s no way the police can rescue them in time. It would be much too dangerous to even try.

Point of interest: the last 3 times we’ve seen Sam, he’s been without a cigarette. Apparently, hasn’t lit up since March 6, after the rollover.

Even if they could escape the car, hypothermia would kill them in minutes, and where would they find an open spot in the ice away from Tracy and Sam to start the escape anew, if hypothermia didn’t kill them?

Once again, the fate of the baddies is left ambiguous (all the better for future revivals, if wanted)….

The art is really great today, though I seem to think that all the time. I really like the long shot, medium shot and close-up variety and the feeling of space in panel 1 and the feeling of depth in panel 3, among other things. It’s also great to see “Ye gods!” Everything screams Tracy as it should be.

She knew she wasn’t going to jump over a large lake, so why hit the Nitro? I’m betting it’s because she WANTED to break through the ice, because the car is rigged for underwater work. Those faces yesterday didn’t look terrified. He looked shocked but the landing, and she looked determined. Neither of them looked like they were looking at Davy Jones’ locker.

My bet is on Lena being the lone survivor. ;D

Get to them on time for what, Tracy? To save them, arrest them, or both? That’s the question. Even in the sticky situation the Nitrates are in, we just don’t know if they’re done for or not. Still guessing not.

Could it be that the modified car can handle under-water?

I wonder if a gentleman named Q has been part of their restoration—and they’re actually submarining under the lake…

To answer your question Sam, Sprocket decided she rather die than spend the rest of her life on the lamb or in prison for murder. Let this be a lesson to all of you kiddies, crime doesn’t pay! Nice filler story, I wonder what Ms. Flattop, the Black Hearts, Mumbles, Double Up and Ricki Mortis are up to? You think Ricki might start a solo career as a criminal now that her boss, Abner Kadaver is probably dead?

Still going with the submarine theory.

Tarry Plaguer: Is that a “spoiler”?

An exciting if not too plausible ending (?) to a very well-paced story. We can deal with the inconstancies and strange personal decisions of the characters later. What is in need of urgent discussion and concern is; What in the world happened to Tracy’s nose in panel three??? Did he bang it on the dashboard when Sam slammed on the breaks? Did he hit in when exiting the car? I”VE GOT TO KNOW!! LOL!!!

This way we can bring them back next year!

Isn’t Sam Jewish? If he is then I don’t think he observes Lent. He wouldn’t give up those cancer sticks if his life depended on it!

My guess is that the car was the same type Roger Moore (007) drove up on the beach from out of the deep. Neat toy; gotta get me one!

Good Idea on that aqualung. It “saved” BB eyes and hadn’t even been invented yet. Let’s just move on with a new arc and some good villains.

I havent read the strip in over a week, and theyre pretty much STILL at the same place they were back on the 7th of march. i was a bit worried tho for a second… i thought that was the wheaton farm barn that they hid in (for all of ten or fifteen seconds.. heck sprocket didnt even get to finish her shower). And can someone check something for me.. i had thought that flattop jr’s car was a CONVERTIBLE when it first appeared, wasnt it?

Reinforced windows would delay the inevitable. This would give them time to play with Lena, so there’s that. Lena may feel entitled to a last meal. I think drowning would be preferable to being on Lena’s menu.

In case anyone doesn’t know it, Lent is not a Jewish religious observance. Sam who is Jewish might have to give up smoking on Yom Kipur, since no one is allowed to light a match or make a flame.

that pic yesterday of the car crashing into the floor bottom doesn’t make the “rigged for underwater” theory look too promising. As for Abner Kadaver, if they hadn’t been able to locate his body in that cement by now, you don’t think Tracy would have been notified?
