“Shaggy” , huh? Maybe Tiffany can get Gunther to say: “Zoiks!!!” … and and put a “fraidy-cat dog” next to him, and a “psychedelic van”, to boot….

I too would feel uncomfortable Tiffany eying and touching me like that.

This is vaguely akin to checking out a riding horse before buying him. Definitely a downgrade from Rosa.

Perhaps part of Gunther’s “apprehension” is that he is still “in between his feelings for Rosa”. The other part seems to be his not being used to attention this way, his M.O., just like what happened with Sophia’s hug…..

So what is Greg Evans going to do bounce around from Luann’s art class and Tiffany and Gunther comic strip?!?

Its time for Gunther to tell this girl, the most she will be is someone’s arm candy unless she grows up, and to leave him be till he finishes his college work about 8 yrs from now….

I know that Gunther’s sore at Mommy and is still acting like a petulant child. But why doesn’t he clean up by shaving and putting on an actual shirt (even if a solid color) rather than that sweatshirt? What’s he trying to prove?

I’m told that is how manipulation works. First, insult then compliment and reel him in and toss him back. She is only showing interest because someone else did

Tiffany’s calling out all the superficial changes. No surprise there. The question now is what will Gunther do with all her attention… once he gets over his shock that she’s talking to him at all.

“Doctor” Tiff is giving New Model Gunther a very thorough examination! It’s no wonder he’s uncomfortable. He’s probably never played “doctor” with a girl before! But for her, I think he’s just a novelty, not a prospective real conquest. . He’s just a bit of catnip, and that cat will soon tire of playing with him.

I’m sorry but there is no way Gunther made it out of Peru with his V-card intact.

Interesting part is in those comics they’re both wearing plaid.

Is this the first time a girl has shown Gunther appreciation at the “new” look? I know Bernice and Crystal commented to each other on it, but not to Gunther. And Gunther used to have some desire for Tiff. Big question is will he keep the look?

If a guy did this to a chick, he’d be arrested and expelled.

I do not know for sure, but the feeling I get is that Gunther’s “don’t…” in the last frame is a worrisome potential percursor to him exploding in a hot flash of anger again. I am sincerely hoping this is not going to be a regular part of the “new” Gunther that Greg has envisioned. The way he is drawn in the last panel also looks like he may easily fall into the rude, sneering scowl like he used with his mother the last few times he became upset with her.

She’s working her way down…stay tuned.

I hope Greg doesn’t forget that he set up a plot in which Bernice has never met her roommate, who apparently sneaks in and out of their dorm room in the middle of the night. We ought to find out what Dez’s situation is before the end of the academic year — after that, it will probably be too late.

First, Gunther was a “project” of Rosa— and he learned to be a bit adventurous and romantic.Now, Gunther is a “project” of Tiff— what will he learn? (Go back to Rosa, young man!)

Ok Evans, it’s time for you to go. I’ve put up with your questionable story lines for years, I’m sick of it, I’m gone. I know everyone in the world will argue with me when I say this but you know what? While your characters get older there is NO GROWTH. Yeah, I know, this whole thing about Gunther is how much he’s matured. But no. Why is he here? Because he’s running home to mama. Is he being protective of her? No, he’s being territorial. Like a young boy. There is a big difference. And now you have Tiffany pawing him like a piece of meat. Like I said, no growth.

While I’m not saying that "kids should be out “all late into the wee hours of morning”, the guy would have probably been glad to have took her home at 8 p.m., if it meant his being able to enjoy his routine. The girl was trying to help him appreciate that not everything has to be planned out . She appreciated his resourcefulness and organization. But she was saying that he tended to go overboard with planning, so much so that ,even if not with her, it would severely cramp any chances of him being able to enjoy life and relationships….. –

“His last kiss with Rosa proves he never got comfortable with her.” If I recall the little peck she gave him after they had broken up, it doesn’t prove a thing.

I think he’s at least marginally “hot.” Lookwise, at least. I doubt he’ll ever be able to really loosen up though.

Scuse me, don’t mean to butt into this ongoing discussion, but I’d like to bring up one point:-Gunther is no happier now than he was when he was with Rosa but unsure of what he wanted to do.-Gunther is not a happy guy, ok? It’s not because he’s with a girl who wants him to change, or because his mother wants to see someone. It’s that Gunther is not a happy guy, period.-Someone who is so consumed with anxiety that he needs to plan everything in order to give himself a bit of relief from his fears is not, by definition, a happy person…

Also, Rosa and Gunther did get physically close, but not as often as Rosa would like, due to something within Gunther. Maybe due to parts of what Argy is referring to, maybe something else. – As far as this group of characters are concerned, Luann, Quill and Rosa seem to be the “social status quo”, relatively speaking, and are vastly more comfortable with certain aspects of relationships and showing affection….

You can do better than Tiffany, Gunth! She’d just leave you for the first rich guy that comes along anyways.

Might make an interesting interlude, though…

That’s not "cherry picking’. That’s also not a resolution in those strips. It was a segue into their “goofing around” with costumes, etc. At Quil’s job, before they had their little production meeting with Manezon. It’s also a “tabling” of the same ongoing issues, through his appeasement of her, followed by offering something along the lines of what she wants… more affection/ attention. – And the strip here already showed the “threatening” of a breakup, in these lines:

Luann: “Too bad our time keeps shrinking!”Quill: “Then maybe we shouldn’t waste it!”Luann: “You think discussing us is a waste of time?” –

Tiphany is being WAY too familiar here.

“Ending lines” meant to that particular strip, not the whole story….. since I did say that it continued to a “goofing around” with doing costumes and Vaudeville performances..

….The fact that he is saying don’t tells me he has more sexual confidence than he’s ever had.I don’t think he initiatiated but Rosa didn’t want to be down there alone and with hers so at the very least when she realized he was leaving she decided they would both give it up before he left.

If Tiffany can peek in his top, Gunther should be able to peek in her top. But, like all of the Luann stories, its all tease and no action. It is a hormone-free zone.

Actually, I remember a few Super Bowls back, there was a commercial for a company that was making their point by using “cat herders” and they were “herding” a bunch of cats across the plains to where they had to go. Some scenes with live cats, some scenes had computer simulated cats being herded across the rivers and lands. The humor was in the fact that they’re talking about how many scars “Fluffy” gave one herder, how “satisfying” it was to tough it out, how treacherous the conditions were, all talking in the same way as if they were driving steer……

I’m not going to read much into it since Tiffany is so shallow.
