The newly converted to any belief system seem always to be the most vocal. (Almost as if they were still trying to convince themselves, along with those they are lecturing.)

It’s also interesting that there has to be blame placed on others. No one who ‘believed wrongly’ made an actual choice. They were ‘manipulated into it’ by cunning advertisements.

So, today’s manipulative advertisers, yesterday’s ‘the Devil made me do it’. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or so I’ve heard…

I find it interesting that the greatest praise any vegan can bestow on an all-plant dish is “you’d swear you were eating meat!”

This is a study in extremes. Not everyone who eats meat eats fast food. And it’s not a matter of either being a fast food junkie or being a vegan. As I get older (61 years as of today), the missus has me eating more responsibly, plus I workout regularly. I don’t have to respond to either the mass media marketing that tells me I have to eat everything commercially sold, nor the progressive “marketing” that tells me to be vegan or die.

It’s well known the human brain increased greatly in size and capacity when humans started eating meat. The reverse is also true and it’s amazing how quickly it happens.

“Vegetarian” is a Native American word meaning “Bad hunter”.

Exercise, eat healthy, don’t smoke, don’t drink and die anyway. This regime may not extend your life but it will certainly feel like it!

Actors and Actresses do not really eat or drink during commercials . Mainly because if you were to take a big healthy bite of whatever it is for each take and you end up doing 20-30 takes , you would be stuffed to the gills and ready to puke. Also, if you pay close attention you will realize , the food they advertise is much different than the food they sell.

I can’t say for the U.S., but here you don’t see people eating in ads period. I figure this has less to do with all food being bad for you and more to do with the food in ads being fake and advertisers figuring people eating looks disgusting.

Veganism isn’t healthy at all, though. It deprives the body of the most essential nutrient: Protein, and instead substitutes it with synthetics.

I’ve seen stories about things like a vegan mother’s baby dying because her breast milk didn’t have the right nutrients in it. Of course, there are all the crazy ones, too, who murder their pets or kids by not giving them a proper diet.

I am trying to eat more meat, personally, and fewer carbs. It’s not meat that’s the problem, and idiots like this guy need to be better informed. Reduce artificially processed foods – including fake meat – and anything with fructose or other modified carbs and starches. Try to eat grass-fed meat and try to avoid anything with ingredients you can’t pronounce. That’s why obesity is a problem. If it was meat, wouldn’t obesity have been a problem 150 years ago?

Proto-humans had small brains. It wasn’t until meat became a normal part of our great-ancestor’s diet that brain size took off. The brain is 2% of the body’s weight but uses over 20% of its calories. You need a lot of calories to keep it going. Meat provides that in a compact form so you don’t have to spend all day grazing. This frees your time up to invent things like fire and wheels and better hunting implements.

Of course, nowadays, you don’t have to graze all day or even hunt for a significant part of it. You can buy food.

I think anyone faces a near death experience due to poor lifestyle choices, as Wiley’s Lawyer Bob did, would opt for a saner and safer way of living – including drastically changing their diet. Greasy, artery clogging burgers vrs. healthy vegetables ? A no-brainer…except for the No Brainers !

In the book of Leviticus, Moses relays the dietary laws given to him by GOD… Now if GOD, didn’t want the Israelites to eat meat or meat products he probably would have included a statement to that effect somewhere in those laws. Or even as the Eleventh Commandment, Thou shalt not eat of any other living being or its products… He didn’t say ‘no meat’; except for the unclean such as swine etc. Please note GOD also didn’t specify that; ‘Thou shalt not EAT THY NEIGHBOR’ which more or less implies that ‘long pork’ is still on the table. Logically that would make the Vegans as an option when meat prices get to high.

Wiley hits another one out of the park. They just can’t get one by him. Most people could easily improve their conditions by halving their intake of animal flesh.I’m not sure if it would be advisable for children, since they have dietary needs that require high density protein sources. But if you are done growing up, you seem to just start growing out.Nutrition is a complex topic.People have a variety of metabolic parameters to meet. What is perfect for one may be less than optimal for another.I would recommend more fiber for most people, though. It really helps with those anger issues.

Part of that, not just for Beer, but for any food or beverage in TV shows and movies is the fact that sometimes they have to reshoot the scenes 30 or 40 times to get everything Just Right..Most actors Stomachs just cant Hold that much, so they seldom actually Eat or Drink anything on screen..

…and there’s PLENTY of documented proof that meat and cheese are simply NOT the bad, evil foods they’re supposed to be. Try this on for size: an 8-week diet of as much meat and cheese as you want, green veggies only, no bread. Your cholesterol and triglycerides will go sky-high, right? NO WAY-I DID this personally as an experiment, with blood tests before and after. The young intern who drew the blood tests both times was shocked when he saw that both those readings had DROPPED considerably. It’s the carbs and wheat that get you. American doctors are among the most poorly trained in the world when it comes to nutrition. I really hate to see such ignorance promoted in Non Sequitur—as aptly named as the strip is when it comes to the facts about burgers and cheese! (hold that bun, please)
