I came up with four guesses for the person in the movie business Tracy was going to call. George Tawara wasn’t one of them. I’m obviously not a good guesser.

In Targets (1968), “Karloff, as Byron Orlock, more or less plays himself: an aging horror star, consigned to low-budget drive-in fare.” Maybe this is another Karloff reference, and yeah, we should have clued in quicker to the fact that George Tarawa/Tawara was coming up again (with his husband, Brad, too). Somebody did guess that yesterday, but I don’t remember who.

Well, the original actor’s name was not Nash, so there goes a favorite explanation for the name confusion out the window.

I wonder if the direct reference to “husband Brad” in the comic will cause some outrage. I nearly got into a fight the other day when I was chatting with a friend about the real George Takei, the word “homosexual” came up, and suddenly we were approached by a furious guy who said “Homo? Did you call me homo? I can’t stand it when people call me homo!”

Gweedo, et al, if you are wondering what Vista Bill’s Comet looks like, here it is:Comet has 18tb of attached disk space, 10gb of random memory, and an Intel 3.46gHz porcessor. My dream machine. 8-1/2 years in the making and I am finally finished! (Shadow and Shadow 2 are backups for Comet).

You’re talking rationally, which did not seem to work with this guy. I wanted very much to ask him why he would automatically assume that the word “homo” referred to him, but I suspect that the question would be very unwelcome.

“Byron Orlock” just muddies the waters further, Who was Nash, and what became of him? What can George tell Tracy that will help with case of the death of Vic Smith, or John Cassaday, or whoever he was?For all my vexation, this continues to be a deliciously Old School story, rather like an Agatha Christie mystery novel….

    LIKE . . . Wynken, Blynken, and Nod ?

Today, Dick Tracy without ‘blinking’ twice, has solved yet another minor mystery a further ‘honing’ of SKILLS for the “Big One” . . . that ‘shapes up’ before our eyes - the Hangman “Whodunit” ?

One might feel he’s confident - “right on top” of his “analytical” game, as effortlessly there, panel 6 - he seemed to ‘solve’ a minor puzzle . . . (or a nonplus?)Helpful perhaps, for those, that may’ve “wondered” about those little “idiosyncrasies” - as Dick now ‘effectively’ tells us, that Brad is “Dad”!!

For this ‘occasion’, Joe Staton even seemed to have slipped in, the ‘suggestion’, of a smile on the relevant face, with eyes looking back ! ?

‘Interesting’ too, that our detective clarifies a minor mystery, yet seemingly failed to nail - Bribery’s ‘supplier’ of the Gold (likely, an original train robber?)

Thought by now Mayor Armstrong might have had both him and Patton on the carpet ? Gold recovery alone, is not enough . . .

Both Bribery and his “supplier” escaped ? The main culprits in the previous crime !None from among those ‘shot’ or ‘arrested’, save Méliés (near the end), were even ‘aware’ they were in the same building with the gold.

Plaudits ! ? And mind you, not a WORD of concern from the Mayor ?

I always love to see George make a special appearance. good to see Brad as well. I just think it strange that Tracy makes a special point to say “your husband”. Yeah, we all know who he is. Why not “Just say hello to Brad for me”? I doubt if he would tell me, “John, say hello to your wife Mary for me”. I mean, I’d kinda know who he meant if he said “Say hello to Mary”. Or even “Say hello to your wife”. I’m glad Dick is cool with same sex marriage. So let’s treat it like any other marriage. No need to say both Brad AND ‘your husband’. Unless you’re talking to the readers and not George. And is that really necessary?

Gweedo appreciated Comet,What benefits do you derive for the kind of specs you have ?-————————————————————————————-.Gweedo, back in my working days, I dabbled in graphics work so, Comet is loaded with nearly every possible graphics, photo editing, font editing, and other software related to graphic design. I do not use them as a money making endeavor. I still like to “play”. I have more than 200 programs installed in Comet. Why? I don’t know. I enjoy my computers… Comet, Shadow, and Shadow 2 (laptop). They are all running Vista as their operating system. .As for the 18tb of attached drive space, I am a collector and I back my files up three times! I have a backup in my safe also. My total hard drive space is 38tb. I’ll never, ever use it all, though. .I suppose I am a “computer geek”, aren’t I?

Despite any opinion anyone may have concerning homosexual marriage, I do not believe the strip either condemns it or condones it one way or the other in this sequence. I believe it just reflects modern society as it currently exists. Tawara is based upon George Takei who is in a homosexual marriage in real life. What would be preferable to today’s strip? Should Tracy have acted disgusted in rejection? Should he have jumped for joy in acceptance? He did neither. Tracy is a professional and keeps a professional demeanor of respect for all citizens. Police must maintain a neutral position and accept situations and people as they are rather than what anyone wishes they might be.

Quite an impressive set-up, Mr. Raley. I was unaware you was such a technophile. It’s also networked between two other systems? Quite an achievement! I applaud your decision not to jump on the Win10 bandwagon as well. Our office’s only Windows System is 7, and will remain that way until the one program we need stops supporting 7, that’ll be several years.

My own system, “Zeus” is no where near that standards, although I do have mine networked into a file server, and our lessor’s system as well.

It does make it complicated for me. Amazon Prime’s video service isn’t available in Canada. (neither is Amazon Fire TV) meaning that all you get for Amazon Prime at a premium price is fast delivery. The new show obviously won’t be available through iTunes since Amazon and Apple are having a bit of a hissy fit over apple not automatically offering Amazon Video (also not available in Canada) on Apple TV. Clearly Amazon stuff doesn’t go onto Netflix so it will have to go onto one of the two streaming services – Crave or Shomi – run by the cable companies. So, like Jeremy Clarkson’s “Not Top Gear” (or whatever they end up calling it) it’s not likely that I’ll see it anytime soon.

You neglected to mention that the appearance of Mysta Maid makes it go high too !!!

People are constantly trying to prove that, but I personally think that claim is a little overstated. New characters and characters who haven’t been seen in awhile almost always cause a lot of talk. Mysta usually falls into that category because her appearances are occasional and generally brief. I’m pretty sure that if she appeared for 25 days in a row, the volume of comments would settle down.

I just had an idea for a new story based on what’s going on in France right now but I don’t think the Tribune bosses would allow a terrorist oriented story due to the high violence level. I think the assault on the Blackhearts is about as violent as they would allow. Funny thing, though, is that there is so much enhanced violence in comic books, video games, TV and movies that I wonder what their worry is since not many kids even read newspaper comics anymore.

There are a lot of blogs and web sites where just mentioning same gender marriage would send some people into outrageous platitudes about how evil and anti-Christian such things are. I’m surprised someone would quit Tracy based on a one line comment. As Neil Wick put it, this is what’s happening in the real world and not mentioning it will not make it go away. Since I am not gay it doesn’t affect me directly so, to quote the Beatles, just “Let it Be”.

Did you know that sodomy or sex of any kind outside of marriage is against the law? The Supreme Court has no power to make laws. The congress makes laws.

The thought of what they do is disgusting …….

The holy bible says in Romans 1 that homosexual acts are unnatural ……………..
