New poll up: How successful is the opening going to be?

If Bernice and Tiffany double-dated1) 25 votes – Tiffany goes with Gunther, Bernice with Piro2) 11 votes – Tiffany goes with Piro, Bernice with Gunther3) 8 votes – Other4) 6 votes – None of them can stand each other – no date5) 5 votes – Tiffany goes with Bernice, Gunther with PiroOther: That would be AWKWARD!; They’ll end up dating each other; Both like Piro, but he just wants a place to crash. No dates; My fear is that the foursome will become the next “Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice”; Who the heck knows anymore?; Bernice goes with Piro, his lice, and Gunther.Tiff has the self-respect to stay home.Luann Trufans mock her; Piro would never go on a double date, way too much talking; They’d have double trouble; Tiffany and Bernice would get into a heated argument. Gunther would say nothing but, “Uh”. Pyro would reach the breaking point and yell, “Silence!!!!”

“These are not the drawings you were looking for….” – I don’t know which is worse, here- Zebo’s painting on the wall, or Manezon’s acting…. – Especially if she says “It means everything and nothing at the same time, Zebo!”

We may not find out what Pru’s show is about, or who is in the cast, or anything like that. It might have been more interesting if we had been told about that, but even so, we can get by without knowing that information. It’s just a comic strip, so it’s all right if some things that would be important in real life get left out.-But that’s a different idea from the fact that the strip is repeatedly telling us that Moony U. bans dorm residents from having guests after 10 p.m. That’s an addition of an unrealistic element, and saying that it’s just a comic strip is not a good justification for adding a plot development that readers find hard to believe — or at least readers who have attended college in the last 40 years find hard to believe. The Evanses should have set up a different situation in order to establish the idea of Bernice feeling like a hypocrite as an RA.

I see the place is actually still under construction – the prefabricated and unplastered brick wall behind them is in the act of being dropped into place in Panel One. Or maybe they’re merely being bricked in to starve to death. Mr Grey bears long grudges, and he never forgave the two of them for something that happened long ago.

Surely any children that Col Zebo (sorry, no accent mark for you) and Manezon would have would be marked with the sign of the devil.

And thanks a lot Greg, I was getting up to fix breakfast but then I read this strip and the horrid mental image that flash through my mind made me lose my appetite.

Since Mrs. Manezon teaches at Moony Uni and Zébo teaches at Pitt CC, what we are seeing here is the Moony-Pitts in Frank’s Money Pit. But I have to wonder what’s the point – is either one of these people (or both of them) married? Will Knute’s video catch them in a compromising position? Will Quill and/or Luann use that video as blackmail material to get a better grade? Of course not. This is just another “teachers are losers” reminder, from the strip that constantly made that point via Mr. Fogarty.

8To me, the most interesting strip of the week! 1. I like the interaction between Manezon and Zebo.2. I think the painting of the bricks by Zebo is humorous especially because it looks a lot like the wall behind it.3. I think Greg is suggesting a joke about “high art” that is both funny and yet not mean-spirited. 4. I like what seems to be a blooming “romantic link” between Manezon and Zebo. Overall, it was just a fun effort! I hope it continues in this vein tomorrow!

I love how Greg draws Melodee. Artists try to draw characters and setting with a sense of persepctive, so they appear 3 dimensional. Melodee is just plain 2-D, flat (especially her head & face). Perfect match for Zebo!
