It’s actually not that uncommon for actors to date and marry other actors.

I mean, c’mon, who else are they gonna meet?

Whoooeeee! We’ve got a full-bore wacko here. And some of us were feeling sorry for Tiff, for being so lonely! I guess this is the hidden depth of character that some Luann fans see in Tiffany. And it looks like the rumored Tiff-Gunth romance is on hold for awhile.

I think that Tiffany’s lonely, and would like nothing better than to find a great relationship with the right man. Since she’s always been attractive and rather open to a relationship, it’s kind of a mystery why she hasn’t done better. But some people have trouble finding relationships, or even sabotage them, for unconscious reasons.

Nevertheless, I think Tiffany likes to pop off. It’s a kind of bragging, and a defense mechanism. That’s what’s going on here.

Tiff will never be a movie star. She might end up as the weather girl on a local TV station.

The scariest part of today’s strip is that it seems to indicate that Tiffany has actually worked out a plan for her life. Sure, it’s a plan that may never happen, but she’s actually scoped it out.

Hey, Greg, don’t let Tiffany regress, she was doing so well. Now, you’ve gone and given her the Hollywood mentality again. If daddy’s money doesn’t hold out, she’ll be waiting tables hoping to meet a star or producer or sugar daddy. She’ll get skinny, get breast implants, go on auditions, do a couple of “adult films”, and end up in a seedy trailer park with some drunken over the hill movie has-been. Then she’ll catch the eye of a ambitious politician and become his trophy wife. He’ll get elected as governor of a big coastal state, and she will become the First Lady of California.

And, she will probably be divorced long before Luann also. Not saying Luann will be divorced, but …

wow, this is delusional. I would have thought after her one Hollywood adventure Tiffany would have realized that she was never going to make it there. More likely she’ll marry the college quarterback and be a used car salesman’s wife for life.

Maybe Gunther can be her “starter” husband

Heck, my mother in law has been married nine times. She beats out Elizabeth Taylor and, for the time being, has tied with Zsa Zsa Gabor. Of course, Zsa Zsa has passed away, and my mother in law is still going strong, so there is still a chance she could beat Zsa Zsa…

Is this arc going anywhere? Other than bringing High School Tiff back? I liked the new one. I knew plenty of Tiffany’s in HS and most turned out to be nice people.

This arc is BORING. Just when Evans was making her into a 1/2 decent person he turns her back into a slut.

Come to think of it I will check back next week, hopefully when this arc is done.

Tiffany’s plan: “I’m going to be a slut!”

Tiffany is subtly insulting and belittling Luann for not having prospects for a spouse. Making it a competition or a race out of who will get married first. And Luann, wanting to be in a relationship, may be feeling left out, or a bit behind in the race. Hypocritical on Tiff’s part, who does not have anybody, either, but she’s digging at Luann.

Oh, what a long drop she has when she falls off that pedastal!

Hollywood is full of people like Tiffany; shallow, vapid, dishonest, and completely self-centered.

Lighten up a bit, guys. I suspect that the Tiffster is just saying all this to tease Luann and prod her into some serious thinking.

Yes, I am seeing Tiffany as a far better actress than most of us realize!

I though Tiffany was maturing in a good way. This week it indicates she is not doing so. I liked the “new Tiffany”. Let her find some happiness and a more mature outlook.

Paris(Tiffany) plans to retire when she wins the lottery! she has what is called: the “LaLa Land plan”

Let’s just go ahead and crown her the next Anna Nichole Smith! Somehow I don’t think she’s acting a part in her dialog with Luann as some suggest. However, she isn’t taking any acting classes that we’ve seen and doesn’t appear to be a part of any local theater either. Maybe because Dad has made her go to college and take classes she doesn’t have time, but most students would make the time to do something that is their passion. But she’s naïve enough to think she can just walk into a studio and ‘be an actress’ based on her looks and self-perceived talent.

Tiff is pulling Luann’s chain again. She does it so well. Prediction. This will cause Luann to obsess over relationships again. Probably start another doomed flirtation. Maybe look up Quill again?

I guess the writers of this ‘toon have given up on the idea of letting Luann identify a career and pursue it, and instead are forcing her back into her high school self of looking for a man to live her life for, because otherwise she will be an object of scorn by that great judge of persons known as ’high school Tiffany’. This is becoming as disappointing as the ‘Real World’ that many of us seek occasional relief from by checking on these ‘toons. I’ll try back next week; maybe a new Tiffany-less arc will be available…

It’s good to have a plan.

Tiffany seemed to be maturing for a while, but now lately she has been reverting to her high school age.

I guess that In Tiffany’s mind, she connects the whole process of becoming a star, like those ads with the “before” and then the “after” …but without all the “in betweens”.

…Though, if Tiffany were cast in a role of Cinderella, having to scrub the floors , she’d probably protest that a floor is something beneath her.

Hmm, I don’t think this is either regression exactly, or acting. Rather, it’s that people don’t mature on all fronts, all at once, automatically; it’s a matter of focus, paying conscious attention to reexamining long-held stances. Tiff has proven herself to be a considerate, kind, and maturing person in real situations; with Gunther, Piro, and even Bernice. She just didn’t get around to rethinking all her longtime fantasies and childhood “plans” yet. Plus the teasing rivalry with Luann is a long-standing hobby with her too.

Actually, both are in a rut in these aspects, and they may indeed provide each other with the incentive to get out of it and take a look around again. :)

I’ll have to admit that Luann is responding to this lunacy in a pretty chill manner. Score one for Luann’s growing maturity.

While I may be wrong, I tend to think that much of this is either a) an act by Tiffany just to annoy the hell out of Luann, or b) may be her recitation of her long standing, “stock” answers to questions of this nature. If it is b), it may be just that Tiffany does not want to reveal her newer, post-high-school growth in aspirations to Luann, and would prefer to have them be private.

If her statements are truly what she currently believes, it may simply be an indication that this aspect of her life is still stuck in her old, “high-school” mindset, even though we have seen a lot of growth and maturation in other aspects of her personality…. and presumably (hopefully) these beliefs will mature as well, eventually.

I forget….why is Tiffany doing this library job if she’s supposedly working on an acting and modeling career? Is she still doing community service for her role in that criminal scam a few years back? I’d really like to see Tiffany’s false front exposed for what it is. Also here’s an interesting plot suggestion: Tiffany goes on a casting call and gets propositioned by a dirtbag director …..

Tiffany is basically a lonely girl whose parents can be bothered with her and who craves attention, so she bases everything on her looks and what she can get with them. Occasional flashes of humanity come through (her relationship with Gunther), but then it’s back to same old, same old. That said, the loneliness is very telling. Remember the strips of a few weeks ago with Piro and her key card? She first claimed she was on a fabulous ski vacation, which was a lie. Everything has to be “fabulous” for her, because her reall life is so un-fabulous.

Tiff, you have come down with brain rot! Consider what happened to Hanna Montana!

@ANNIE K: Luann had been allowed out of the stuck-in-high-school rut some time ago, when she started considering classes to take, and when she had the courage to break off a no-future relationship with someone who was committed only to career and not ready or interested in anything or anyone else. For some reason the writers of this ‘toon have panicked and decided to shove Luann back into her high school self, concerned mainly with planning life around a man, which seems to be where Tiffany still is. (Despite what many have seen as growth in Tiffany, most of the changes we’ve seen in her have been about the type of guy she is willing to be around, as in Gunther and Piro; not the typical ‘hero’ athletic types of her high school years. But still, life revolves around guys for her.)

I don’t see Tiffany as ‘helping’ Luann out of a rut. I see the writers of this ’toon pushing Luann back into one. This is disappointing…

@OLD_TIMEY_DUDE: The job isn’t a library job. Both Tiffany and Luann are working for a program called ‘Kids First’. The difference is that Luann is working with the kids, and Tiffany was ‘promoted’ to basically a file clerk position, because (as Tiffany herself acknowledged), she’s not very good with or interested in kids. Tiffany apparently went after the job because she needed some experience in working with kids for a role, or so she told Luann at one point. To the best of my knowledge, Tiffany has never been required to do community service for her role in the scam of the fire fighters, and neither was TJ. I don’t think any of that was ever reported to authorities…

Without a long term plan for the evolution of the character, Tiff will be forced now and then to revert to “type”. Only Greg can change that.

JUST when Tiffany was showing occasional glimmers of growth from time to time, she now says this.

Maybe she’s secretly not happy about what she’s saying. Reminds me of that line from The Godfather III: “Just when I thought I was out, they [Team Evans] pull me back in.”

Tiff is leading Luann around like a cow with a ring in its nose. I think it is funny.

Sad. Sad, that the one guy; the One Guy that has been there for BOTH of these two Young Ladies, during Their times of Troubles, has been this Guy named ‘Gunther Berger.’

Maybe, near the end of this week’s Predictable, Obligatory, “Snipe-Fest,” both of these Young Women will FINALLY wake up to the fact that Perhaps it’s time to drop Their Ridiculous, Unrealistic Expectations, of what They may want in a ‘partner,’ and latch on to something Real, and Close at Hand.

Sometimes I wonder if Tiffany is putting people on.

I am puzzled where the Evanses are going with this. New readership demographic? This would be creepy for most millennials. Tiffany sounds less mature than my 11 year old granddaughter.

I remember the time (last year at least) when Tiffany was at Gunther’s house getting help w/ online registration. She started bragging about all the guys who were after her and then suddenly broke down (in tears) and admitted that none of it was true and that, now at Moony, she didn’t have any friends…… It is interesting that she realized she couldn’t pull the wool over Gunther’s eyes, which is why he is a good friend for her.

The only way this could get worse if Jack the Jock got mixed up in this somehow …
