Will Al Gray start asking Questions of Pru, Or Is He convinced that His Nephew is telling the truth and “turning his life around,” and let this “Thing” happen?
The thing is, both of them are clueless to what is about to go down!! Les thought he was doing good, and his uncle should be proud of him for taking initiative, but oh boy… what is about to happen? Ann Eiffell is bad news!
I think Les and Mr. Grey are both in on scamming Anne, hence the “Very good job” compliment. Anne is finally going to jail, Les will be a hero and won’t have to pay her anymore. He’ll finally be free.
I’m counting on Mr. Gray to get more facts before being totally satisfied. It seems that Les owes his mother money by court order. Which seems extremely strange. Perhaps this is the way to clear the debt for Les. SO much of the story has been left in the dark.Speaking of the dark. It’s a pity that we weren’t told who really stole the TV and broke into the vending machines. Les?
looks like Les wants to believe the best,,,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe…………….. and the obvious con artist is Ann and Mr. Gray is a great guy, the big Question will be, what will Les do when he has responsibility of the keys and sees Ann is up to no good at all?
My guess is that Ann is up to no good, but Les has no clue what he is being dragged into and will have to make a life changing decision once he finds out.
You all are reading this situation completely wrong. Haven’t any of you ever watched wrestling? Les is making a turn from heel to good guy, and this is his moment to shine. He doesn’t know about Ann’s plan, which seems like she wants to loot the place. She thinks Les will go along, because she doesn’t really know her son. When he finds out she swindled Pru, he’ll do the right thing.
Whither does Les go? Good guy or complicit guy? What does Mr. Grey find out if he does? Les characterizes Ann’s plans as a “business” party. What kind of business, and does he know that Pru is forbidden to come to a party in her own club? Lets wait and see. It won’t be solved this week though.
When Ann Eiffel last saw TJ, her parting words were “you haven’t seen the last of me”Ann’s plan here is to destroy Kafe Kablooie and get even with TJ.
Pru has said before that she has “learned to read all kinds of people”. Pru is well aware of what’s going down and is doing a great ‘acting job’ for Ann.
The “Sting” goes down and Ann gets arrested.
They also find out that Ann was behind TJ’s food truck explosion.
A lot goes on in Gray’s head that doesn’t come out of his mouth. He realizes he can compliment his nephew while still checking to see what’s going on and chastising him later if it turns out to be crooked.
I may have been wrong about Ann working for the Russians. Maybe she’s doing covert work for the North Koreans. That would explain why she has narrow eyes.
I noticed that Mr. Gray used “Les” and then changed it to the formal “Leslie” . I can see Mr. Gray thinking “…time to install hidden surveillance cameras….”
I hope Sunday’s stand alone journey to something else can be at least interesting this time. What about Tiffany’s father telling her she needs to get better grades if she wants to stay in school. We all know who would help.
If Les does turn hero in this, as some are speculating, I’d be elated. Some time back I was really supporting Les when he was at the Berger’s party and doing a great job upstaging Gunther with Tiff.
But Les is currently acting suspicious, so who knows what way this will go?
Maybe he’ll be like Darth Vader, and turn back to the good at the last minute.
Now that Al Gray is back in his ‘android mode’ (was he ever NOT in it?), his questioning toward Les of what’s happening with Ann E. around is logical – but predictable. Les has been used to getting negative input a lot, obviously, and that’s what he deflecting.
I’m still thinking it will be high-stakes poker, with serving girls, – Ann E. has traveled it seems (Tokyo, right?), and a snake like her (we all know ones like that – I sure do) would ‘work the room’, so to speak, for rich contacts for similar-type activities, like big gambling.
I think Les is hoping his mom will do a straight business with nothing crooked as he still likes Pru. He suggested his mom’s lingerie show when Pru was upset about the lack of money for the theatre area, and he doesn’t want to hurt Pru or cause her trouble. Les may even rat out his mom if (when) she tries something illegal/immoral at the “show” because he wants to help Pru.

So when Ann & Les pull this off and make their getaway after scoring a wad of cash – will Les offer Pru the chance to take off with them?
Wizardgoat over 7 years ago
Well, this arc is continuing to be an exercise in Murphy’s Law.
And it’s now obvious that Les is in with Ann on the deception, and is keeping his uncle squarely in the dark.

I’m thinking Mr. Gray must be a little naive if he buys it that a “business party” that Ann puts on is legit.

Taking this episode at face value, Pru’s job may have just gotten a little more secure.
Pru might have been chastised for leaving Les – a junior employee – solely in charge of his mother’s event.
But since senior partner Uncle Al entered, and Les apparently has him snowed too, then it shows that Pru is not the only one being deceived.
Then again, Uncle Al might be just suspicious enough of Les and Ann to investigate the situation further. We’ll have to wait and see on that point.

All three showed up, at the fuse….. have all three each started their own, uh…“shifts” ?

Seems they each, in a sense, employ a “constand guard”, at their figurative gates…..

Perhaps this family spends a lot of time “in the dark”….
